When Muslims are the target, prominent religious freedom advocates largely go quiet

Do you see religious liberty as under threat in the United States? The debate over Republican candidates’ comments about Islam reveal how bitterly divided Americans are over how to view a basic right.

For the past few years, several of the biggest and most influential religious groups have made the cause of religious freedom a top priority, saying a crisis is afoot. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Mormon Church and many prominent faith leaders have focused intensely on a campaign for religious liberty, saying that it is threatened by liberalizing changes like gay marriage and expanded access to reproductive services like contraception and abortion.

Massive fundraising and public awareness campaigns have gone on, with slogans coined like the bishops’ “Fortnight for Freedom.” Advocacy groups have been formed or reshaped to focus on education and litigation about the threat to religious liberty.

Yet in the fall, when Republican presidential candidates filled the airwaves with dramatic statements about the rights of Muslims, there has largely been silence. GOP candidate Ben Carson in September said a Muslim “absolutely” couldn’t be president. In early November, businessman Donald Trump said he would “absolutely” require a database to track Muslims. Last week former senator Rick Santorum (Pa.) said the constitution does not protect Islam, which “is different from Christianity.”

“The poll by the Associated Press and the NORC Center For Public Affairs Research found 82 percent of people calling religious liberty protections for Christians important, compared with 61 percent who said the same of Muslims. About 7 in 10 said preserving Jews’ religious freedom was important, 67 percent said so of Mormons, and about 60 percent of people who identify with no religion.)”

Islam is neither a religion or a race.

Islam is a conquest cult.

WaPO and other liberals are staying Christians are hypocritical for wanting religious exemptions for Hobby Lobby, Little Sisters of the Poor, and from baking the cake for gays, yet are silent for the plight of Syrian refugees. Thus, Christian hospitals must bake the cake and perform abortion and sell baby parts to Planned Parenthood.

It makes no sense.

There is no coherent logic to it.

And this writer must know that.

It is therefore demagoguery.

That’s pretty funny, given that Islam is probably the most hostile major religion towards other belief systems.

In response to the article, liberals on twitter and the internets say Christians are hypocrites are not standing up for Muslims. Therefore must shut up and bake the cake for gays.

The Plague of Islam

If the civilized world is to survive, Islam must be understood for what it really is: It's not a religion, form of government, or anything recognizable to the civilized mind. Islam is a disease, an incurable disease of the mind that is highly contagious among the feeble minded and is now spreading among the world's feeble minded at an epidemic rate. As with any disease, one can't reason with this disease, negotiate with it, or treat in any manner other than how one would treat any other incurable disease.

As past efforts to contain this disease have failed, carriers of this Plague of Islam must be eradicated wherever they're found, for if they're not, this disease will eventually end not just Western Civilization, but it will undo over 5,000 years of human civilization.

You can be tolerant of those religions which are tolerant, and whose causes are improved by verbal persuasion, not by terroristic force threatening one's life, property, and employment.

You cannot be tolerant of those systems whose influence and acceptance are based on intolerance of others, and deadly force.

Mohammedanism is not at all acceptable in an otherwise tolerant society.

And lets stop calling it Islam or Muslim. It is following the false prophet and child-abuser, Mohammed. No more, and no less. It is not simply a religion alone. It is a whole system of life in which you must swallow it all and live, or reject it all and die. Its god is Mohammed, not some supernatural "Allah," a non-existent figment of Mohammed's fantastic imagination.

"GOP candidate Ben Carson in September said a Muslim "absolutely couldn't" be president.

Which is what liberals like Michelle Boorstein say about conservative Christians. So what is your point, Michelle Boorstein, you stinking bigot?
