Washington state opens all women's bathrooms to men

Thanks to the Human Rights Commission, Washington state's newest law makes businesses open their bathroom doors to both men and women - meaning, men must be granted equal and unfettered access to the ladies' restrooms.

"This first-of-its-kind, statewide law is part of the recent push to frame gender-segregated bathrooms as an affront to 'equality,'" wrote Joseph Backholm in the Family Policy Institute of Washington.

A new rule issued by the state's HRC just took effect this month - and that's after the Houston's lesbian mayor lost her own personal campaign to open women's restrooms to men, due to voter backlash. Voters in Missouri and Arkansas recently shot down similar proposals, too.

But Washington went a different way, and the HRC, which has rule-making powers, created a new mandate for the entire state to abide.

Can you Sue of you walk into a Women’s Bathroom and there are no Urinals?

Does this mean that the Men’s Bathrooms will have Tampon Machines installed?

I needs to know...

lol - she was such a nut, I wouldn’t be surprised if she had something set up that she’d be able to tell.

I am guessing here but I suspect that if a man walked into a womensroom that my middle daughter was in, he would get kicked in the junk. She would likely go to jail, but she would at least get her opinion on the subject across.

The new rule "also affects schools" the policy organization found.

I have no words left to describe these dark days.

As many of my comments on various threads suggest, eastern WA is a different place. You can visit Puhet Sound and the coast, but just try to “hold it” until you come over the summit of the Cascades to the east.

Bravo, Houston. This crap better not come to OC, CA.

I know there would never be little girls alone in a bathroom, but what about 14 year old girls who love to go shopping or to movies on their own?? What about seniors who may use various incontinence things and in their generation do not want the other gender there while they tidy up??

This is GHASTLY to not allow us to protect our most private selves when we go to the restroom. All because some few are born with gender dysphoria. THIS IS INSANE.

Yikes!

No - I have not heard anything about this.

However, I follow national and international news much more closely than local news, so maybe it just slipped by off my radar.

My “Republican” state senator co-sponsored Washington's gay marriage law. If this happened, I'm really surprised I did not receive a news brief from him.

Or, perhaps he's running for his life to Canada!
