Washington (CNN)After repeatedly boasting that he has spent very little on his campaign so far, Donald Trump is set to begin spending $2 million a week on ads in early primary and caucus states.

Trump told reporters Tuesday that he will begin his first major paid media campaign, which he has refused to do despite large advertising buys from his Republican rivals and the super PACs supporting them, next month. Trump, who has no authorized outside group independently backing him, appears to be finally paying heed to polls that show the GOP race tightening in Iowa.

I suspect Trump won’t just be doing traditional ads. Nothing about his campaign has been traditional so far.

He could hype up “the yugest ad in 2016” and dominate another MSM spin cycle. A million dollar ad that makes him 10 million in free publicity.

Two million dollars is “Trump change” to him. Whatever ad Trump produces will go viral and multiply his investment. The MSM’s whining alone will be worth many times more than Trump spends.

Trump has got some big money to spend. ;-)
Yep. And he can completely control his ads without worrying about the lunacy of the candidate not "talking to the SuperPAC" (wink-wink) about the content.

Also, his money won't line the pockets of a bunch of low-life leaches before it's spent on the candidate...He'll be getting more bang for his buck and BANG! it will be.

I can't wait to see the ads.

Fawning. Fox was fawning over him.

I watched Fox for the 1st time since Mags’ debate gambit.

Loved it. And the kisses with Melania.

What in the heck you’re smoking?

Let's see: Trump WAS ahead in Iowa, now Cruz is ahead in Iowa. Trump doesn't want to lose Iowa, so he spends money in Iowa (when he said he wouldn't need to do that). That sounds like losing to me.

Got it now?

“Loved it. And the kisses with Melania.”

She was the instigator, wasn't she? After seeing the family together and their brief interactions, they will all be an asset to him. When Ivanka was speaking, Trump looked so proud of her. They all seem to have a lot of respect for each other, and affection.

Trump ads at the CBS News front page at this time:

“Stephen Colbert: Trump is ‘my old character with $10 billion’”

“Meet the man behind “Trump is disgusting’ skywriting
A millionaire real estate developer is behind the aerial messages at the Rose Bowl bashing GOP front-runner”

“Trump Test
Quiz: How well do you know Donald Trump?
The outspoken businessman has become a dominant force in the GOP primary...”

Trump can spend $2 million in ads which would cost a super pac $10 million or more depending on on demand as we get closer to Caucus day.
