On December 29, actor James Woods reacted to newly released details of the heinous November 10 murder of Amanda Blackburn by urging Americans to âbuy more guns and learn how to use them.â
Blackburn was the wife of Pastor Davey Blackburn, who left his home to go the gym on November 10, only to have three suspects enter the home and kill his wife while he was gone.
According to USA Today, police said Amanda was knocked to the floor, then âaccused triggerman Larry Taylorâ allegedly âleaned over Blackburnâs body and shot the young mother in the back of the head.â Police said Taylor then âleaned furtherâ and âlooked at her face. And he watched her bleed.â
Taylor is also accused of raping a woman on November 3âwhile his accomplices allegedly robbed the womanâs apartmentâand of killing a man on November 4.
James Woods responded to these reports not with calls for more gun control, but with a call for more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens who want to defend their own lives, their childrenâs lives, and their homes.
Woods tweeted:
âBuy more guns and learn how to use them.â

That’s what civilians would be if untrained Americans carried guns, as some Republicans have recommended to combat terrorism and other mass shooting attacks in the U.S., former New York City top cop Raymond Kelly said Sunday. “If you have a tumultuous situation where someone who is not well-trained takes out a gun,” Kelly told John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable,” his AM 970 radio show, “you can compound that mayhem.”
Guns are bad.

I’m going to take advice from democrats. If someone wants to murder me, or rape and murder my family members, I’m going to try to understand what microaggressions I committed and how I provoked their rage. Shooting violent criminals, including terrorists, just makes things worse.

I learned by watching movies and TV, so I'm ready.
And,unlike Russell Crowe, don't forget to install the proper sights:
And don't hold the gun sideways.
110% correct, and while you are at it stock that ammo, especially if you are from NY as the new laws go into effect soon.
Thank GOD I live in open Carry Tennessee.
I’ll take the Birdman .50 BMG Barret pistol with nucleonic ammo.
We’re glad to be in Tenn. also. Live out in the boonies
way back off a couple or three roads, snakepit in the
front of our place (rattlers & copperheads), big dog,
Smith & Wesson revolver plus various & sundry others,
crossbow, etc. (Have you seen the map with Tenn. locations
of jihadist training camps across the U.S.?)
Well, I think that's what I've been doing wrong.
“Sadly, too many gun owners are untrained in safe firearms handling and combat shooting.”
Learning how to shoot a gun or gun safety is not rocket science. And most of us will never receive combat shooting. The fairly numerous incidences of people having to use guns for self-defense that I personally know about merely required the showing of the gun.
I have a black lab female where if you’re OK, she’s ok, but she does not like anyone raising their voice to me or my family and she’s not crazy about aggressive dogs either. Best dog we’ve ever owned. If a neighbor is out, she’ll go over to them so they can pat her head. She knows they want to pet her.
Dey wuz jus makin em pay fo dere white priblege.
Ping!
James Woods is a good man - strong and honorable. Glad he’s on our side helping us with this issue.
“I learned by watching movies and TV, so I’m ready.”
But you still need to practice those video games too.
Punishment doesn't happen. Look at the young couple who were tortured for days and killed in Tennessee. Those animals should have been drawn and quartered.
I also prefer to avoid those urban neighborhoods that engender problems. Every city has them and everyone knows where they are.
One can also have a couple of dogs living with him/her. When "bad guys" hear the barking they USUALLY opt out for a house with no barking.
There are usually solutions to problems before using a gun. Not always, but usually.
My husband carried...but the town we lived in for a bit was littered with drug growers and chemists-gone-bad.
Having a pit bull as a pet is also a safeguard. Even if the guy shoots the dog he will find that said doggie has, er, "attached" him/herself to his leg with its jaws.
My mother's family had the pitt bull. It would rumble a low growl in her chest as people approached. Just a small warning.
