Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.
"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clintonâs biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."
New York businessman Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.
"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the womenâs card on me, sheâs wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.
Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.
Instead, he outlined how he would contrast himself with Clinton, should he get the Republican nomination for president.
"Because of the Obama/Clinton economic policies, millions of Americans are hurting," he said. âWe have the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1977."
He added that "the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is terrible because of the strengthening of Iran and the rise of the Islamic State.
"That is a record that is substantially indefensible," he said.

He doesn't have to. ALL his ammo will be saved for the Ubershrew.
Boy it’s going to be quiet on these Cruz threads when all of you “that’s the last straw I’m leaving!” guys finally bow out. Do us all a favor and stay on the Trump butt kissing threads.
Arrogance as in they think they’re “above the fray” when in fact they are deep in it. The lies, the pretense.
Apparently so.
Cruz will play mudball if necessary. It hasn't become necessary yet.
They get away with it. They have their whole lives. They are good at it. Why wouldn’t they be? If you are told you are special your whole lives, pretty soon you believe it regardless if it is true.
I like Senator Cruz more and more.
He stays focused on the real issues, is a real Conservative and has real credibility.
She may have Bill dress in drag to make sure Bernie hasn’t locked up the pervert vote!
Just saying.....
The McCain/Romney position? Worked out well for them.
What is "to black"? Is that a new verb?
It's apropos, considering William the Impeached is the first Black President, as declared by the blacks themselves.
Seesh Ted, first a cartoon fight, then this?
I’m stunned that you would wave a white flag even before Iowa.
You’re done.
Nope...has nada to do with either McCain or Romney.
What? Clinton is a sexual predator. If Hillary uses the War on Women meme I EXPECT all candidates to smack her verbally for not supporting the women who accused Clinton of rape! I expect her to protect young women & men who intern at the White House! I EXPECT candidates to point out Muslim atrocities against women in the world not provide cover for them. She is no defender of women & she wants to bring a sexual predator back into the White House!
THIS is why I pick Trump over Cruz. Trump is a street fighter, using every weapon at his disposal. We don’t need any more politicians going easy on the enemy. GO TRUMP!
How is it possible that bringing up Hillary’s sleezy past or her husbands not fair game. Of course one’s moral core is in question when running for the highest legal authority in the land. All candidates are fair game.
Your comment is exactly what is wrong with Ted.
Cruz has said BILL Clinton isn't the issue... however he will be marshaling all his ammo for the one he would be fighting, and that's Hillary. Case in point: Marco Rubio, who is head and shoulders intellectually superior to Hillary, got royally schwacked when he turned his guns on Cruz. When and if given the opportunity, Cruz will turn PIAPS inside out, smiling the whole time.
What people did and said 20, or even 2 years ago is fair game right? It matters to the present because it shows character, judgement, and patterns of behavior. If a candidate blames her husband’s victims, then tries to play the “war on women” card, that should be brought up. If a candidate gives money to Terry McAuliffe’s campaign, then tries to act like a conservative, it’s important people know that. If he calls what the other candidate’s husband did “no big deal” a few years ago, then tries to act like it’s the most important disqualification, people should know that.
What people said and did should be, at least, as big an issue as what they say they’re going to do.
