Ted Cruz says Bill Clinton not an issue in presidential race

Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clinton’s biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."

New York businessman Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.

"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she’s wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.

Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.

Instead, he outlined how he would contrast himself with Clinton, should he get the Republican nomination for president.

"Because of the Obama/Clinton economic policies, millions of Americans are hurting," he said. “We have the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1977."

He added that "the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is terrible because of the strengthening of Iran and the rise of the Islamic State.

"That is a record that is substantially indefensible," he said.

The Clinton’s have always worked as a team. They consider politics “bloodsport”.

You take nothing off the table when you are their opposition.

A nice guy is going to get steamrolled.

The media is not going to do the dirty work for a GOP candidate against the left. They will bury it. The only way to fight them is to make the news by being bold and ruthless.

Trump is getting out ahead of them. This is usually what Clintons have done to their opponents.

Question: Are you saying that avoiding a fight to restore decent governance is a holy path?

Christians know the ills of the USA spiritual condition, but to hide out and use prayer as a replacement for action to never soldier on for restoration, is not just defeatist, but is to be complicit in the evil take down of once Christian nation.

I mean, even our Lord threw money changers from the temple.

Christians are to see what is before them and be cunning as a serpent, as well as gentle as a dove. God did not always use a saint or a prophet to work his will.

In office, the religious right has deferred, surrendered and disarmed.

TRUMP is, at minimum, right on with the LIFE issues and zealous for Religious liberty, and the rest is a bonus; national security, securing our border, restoring our trade advantage, etc., etc., with out speaking in legalese.

“Note to Trumpsters, before he ran for president Trump didn’t think Bill Clinton sexual activity was an issue. “
****************************

Other way around. The Clintons didn’t think TRUMP was much of an issue, either.

They do now.

"The election won’t be decided by 30 second ads on TV."

What has changed over the last 40 years?

Ads ALWAYS decide elections.

THANK YOU. You have made our point.

Few are going to purposely prop up a disappointment again.
Losing is not a virtue, nor an option this cycle.

These Queensbury Rules have destroyed both our country and the Republican Party, with donors playing the same damn long game.

By the grace of God we have someone emerged who is free to be authentic, due to his extraordinary wealth, warts and all, loaded with accomplishment and a citizen contender.

Bill Clinton, when truly engaged, is political dynamite.

Thankfully.

If we both fell for this hidey hole stuff, I would be embarrassed.

"Ted, you are not going to win this election by debate points."

I don't think Cruz has ever been in a fight with another man...and bloodied his nose, or got bloodied.

Certainly he's never been in a street fight.

And, that's what he is in now, woefully unprepared.

“Once again, Trump’s support will only grow.”

We’ll see about that. However wrongly, Bubba’s approval rates are 60+%. The American electorate isn’t guided by values like it once was. But I hope Trump keeps it up anyway. It’ll at least give us some reality-show entertainment.

No, I am saying that it is not the priority now...but part of the authentic justice for later.

Oh! Right on!

Anything Cruz avoids answering is a dodge to “States Rights”. It’s just in this case, it doesn’t work on this one.

He is creating a pattern for dodging lately. Not everything requires skills of debate. This is one case in point.

All moral issues he is avoiding like the plague, banishing off to the Constitution, or to the States, or to if, and but, and to shoulda, coulda and woulda.

Never anything you can get your hands on, pick up, and use to whack the enemy, or your opponent.

Thx, Cowgirl.

Striking first has it’s reasons and rewards. TRUMP gets that. He inoculates himself from Hillary coming at him and exploiting the womens issues vote against him, or his Marla Maples affair. Cruz will get this challenge for the womens vote also.

TRUMP blocks Bill Clinton.

Cruz is left open for the same treatment by the Clintons, because he wants to nap through another opportunity to show readiness for a Clinton battle Royale.

I very much support Ted Cruz in taking this position.

Cruzing to losing not a good strategy.

I believe you are right. Cruz looks out of gas, or otherwise flat, in an attempt to hold on to IOWA for another 36 days, without getting soiled and avoiding controversy.

That plays poorly in desperate times.

Ted, you are not going to win this election by debate points.

People that plan to vote for Hd@mn about facts, else they would not even consider a vote for Hillary. Ted is doing what everyone predicted/hoped would happen to Trump.

You answered to nothing of which I inquired. But, I am not opposed to answering you.

I am angry. I should think you would be.

I simply surmised that Cruz is leaving himself open to the sure incoming, by not being pre-emptive on moral issues that are not conducive to debate skills. Just take a stand.
