George E. Pataki, the former three-term New York governor who launched a long-shot presidential bid that failed to catch fire, told his supporters Tuesday that he is suspending his campaign, two of Mr. Pataki's key backers said.

WOW!!! A front runner like my former governor......just WOW! (S)
I forgot he was even in the race.
Jeb’s campaign-
PAID for MOST of the others in the RACE!!
that is where Jeb’s money REALLY went!
to try and dilute the field... it did not work-
and Jeb’s Hundreds of millions has been squandered
on looooosers- so Pataki got some dough- maybe a job
somewhere with the gop-e
Who’s next?
Man, there are a lot of them, ths time around.
All they need is a monumental ego and one deranged follower!
I sincerely had no idea he was even still in it.
Take the money and run. How nice.
This rates about the same as a tree falling in the forest with no-one to hear.
Don’t bet on Rick moving into the top ten just yet! I was thinking of running for President since my part-time job as a pastry chef ended last week. I figure I’ll have at least eight supporters and that’s not going to help Rick at all.
If you are a strong social conservative, I might consider supporting you.
WHO???
Well,
I skipped college and was married at 18. I wanted to be a wife and a mom and am happy that seven years later I’ve had five pregnancies and six children (twins). I came to Christ over the course of some years and I’m a practicing Christian who could use more practice! I’m adamantly pro-Second Amendment and if it were up to me there would be no bans on semi-auto or fully-auto weapons. I believe the Constitution is my carry permit and that free people don’t ask permission from their government to carry a gun.
If it were up to me I’d eliminate every single government subsidy. I’d end welfare as we know it. There would be a moratorium on immigrants into the USA who don’t like our freedoms.
The Federal government’s role in the public schools and private schools would be ended. There’d also be no more Federally-backed student loans. Nothing in the Constitution gave the government the authority to regulate education and I’d put an end to it.
The abuse of the commerce clause would end.
My standard for the military is that we’d be at least three times more powerful than the top ten most powerful nations in the world combined.
I’d kill America’s enemies. Period.
If anyone killed an American traitor, like say an anti-American university professor, I’d give them a full and unconditional pardon. I’d be willing to do this several times per day.
I’d demand an Amendment to the Constitution that recognizes that the USA is a nation based on the Judeo-Christian tradition and that any other thinking that tries to insinuate itself into law is null and void.
Deficit spending would end. So would the Federal Reserve.
I can go on if you’d like. (-:
Sounds promising, but if you are only 25 (excuse me if I’m reading this wrong), then you are not Constitutionally eligible to be President. Be sure to get back with me in ten years if I’m still around. Best wishes to you.
I want Jeb, Christie, Carly, and Kasich in the race until the bitter end (I would have added Pataki and Graham to the list, but they're out and even while they were in they could barely muster enough supporters to fill a phone booth). Without them there to split the establishment vote, it would all go to Rubio and put him ahead of Cruz and just behind Trump.
Good
Even if Santorum and Huckabee don’t endorse Cruz, when they drop out, most of their supporters will probably go to Cruz because of his strength with an Evangelical base, though some of them no doubt will go with an establishment candidate like Rubio. I think much of Rand Paul’s 2-3% will go to Cruz as well, since Cruz has effectively co-opted many of Paul’s libertarian positions (NSA surveillance, etc).
Time will tell.
I agree with you; best to competition to Jebbie in place.
(-:
The short answer is no, they are not supposed to “keep” the money. But there are lots of other ways to pass the pumpkin. The campaign can hire a relative to stuff mailers, rent a house, or car. I am sure that a good lawyer can find hundreds of ways to legally filter the money.
