DIANA WEST: IT’S TIME TO RALLY AROUND DONALD TRUMP
BREITBART.COM ^ | 26 DECEMBER 2015 | DIANA WEST

Posted on 12/27/2015 2:27:54 AM PST by Helicondelta

Bozell states that Cruz is the one candidate who will return the United States to "her Constitutional foundations and Judeo-Christian values," explaining:

On every issue of crucial importance to conservatives-defunding Planned Parenthood, ending the Obamacare nightmare, reducing the size of government, opposing amnesty-Cruz is not only with conservatives, he's led the fight for conservatives.

To be honest, if these were the only issues under discussion in this GOP presidential primary season I would hardly be able to make myself pay attention. It's not that they are unimportant issues. Personally, I support every one of them. But they are not existential issues.

...

As Trump makes clear, our country's representatives have no clue. Worse, they seem content to remain in ignorance no matter how many Americans die, no matter how far sharia spreads. Not Trump. When you think about it, his call for a Muslim immigration moratorium is really a no-brainer - but whose "politically correct" brain is capable even of thinking of it, let alone calling for it out loud? I regret to say that Sen. Cruz does not support Trump's moratorium, deferring instead to a rosier vision of Islam and immigration screening both in order, politely, to reject it.

That's too bad, but so it goes, further testament to the fearless, agenda-setting powers of Trump. It's really quite incredible: soon, maybe even before it's too late, GOP primary voters will have a clear choice on walls, borders, immigration, even Islamic immigration (and, I would hope, the related issue of Islamic law), all because Donald Trump plucked these crucial issues from the void where the politicians, including good conservatives, have been eager to leave them.

Go Trump!

Cruz^s NBC status is just fine. I take no issue with it.
What I do take issues with are his speeches on RECORDED VIDEO. I will let Cruz do the talking.....

C’mon the also-rans deserve being insulted, they attacked him first.

You’re just mad because you didn’t come up with those particular insults (and I’m sure you insult them too). I don’t think he’s really attacking Cruz anyway, laughing at his quips, patting him on the back, having his wife baby-sit for Cruz’s girls.

It’s probably all choreographed.

You sir, are off the wall. If and when Trump becomes President, you’ll be just like all those deranged Bush haters. Did Cruz change his position on immigration or did he not? If you can’t acknowledge the fact that he did stop foaming at the mouth. It doesn’t help your candidate or your cause.

If all the candidates’ opinions that they ever held must be set in stone; please post those of the candidate of your choice so that we may hold him to the same standards.

Trump has backed off nothing. You have a problem with cognitive dissonance. Trump has said from day 1, that he will let the good ones back in, LEGALLY.

But FIRST all illegals must go back! If some dreamers are worth bringing back, we get to choose who comes back.

On the other hand your candidate Cruz, wants to give a path to legal status without ever having to leave the country. That is Amnesty Version 3.

“...There is simply NO WAY that Ted Cruz was, is or ever can be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States eligible for the offices of President or Vice President...”

The latter legislation does not mention NBC like the previous act so it can’t be used as any insight on how the founding fathers considered it. You can make a legal argument as to the terms it *does* use, but The Naturalization Act of 1790 specifically addresses “Natural Born Citizens”. So we can say, assuredly, what one particular circumstance of birth was considered NBC by the founding fathers at that point in time. We can try to “read between the lines” in later legislation, but the wording of the relevant section in the 1790 act leaves zero doubt or need for any mystical divination as to their intent and understanding of at least one birth circumstance that confers natural born citizenship. It’s not hearsay — they wrote down with ink & paper.

But if Cruz was not a US Citizen *at birth*, then he would have been required to go through the naturalization process to become a citizen. As far as I can determine, Cruz was NOT required to go through the “Naturalized Citizenship” process.

Also, I have no idea if his mother was given a birth certificate in the 30’s and I don’t think it matters if her family’s history establishes it. I know my grandparents on my mother’s side never had birth certificates (as we discovered when they passed) which we learned was not all that unusual at the time and they were 11+ generation American dating back 1769. They were undeniably citizens.

“...What I do take issues with are his speeches...”

I’ll stick with Cruz. If you don’t care for him, perhaps you should look into Trump. I’m sure there’s nothing in Trump’s past that would fail your requirements. If not Trump or Cruz, I hope you find someone acceptable. Good luck with it!

As a legal immigrant and a naturalized US citizen, I will not support any form of amnesty given to Illegals who have broken immigration laws. That is exactly what this is...a form of amnesty by allowing illegals to stay. We are a country of laws.

As a plain ol’ US citizen, born and raised, who is not a single issue voter, I’m supporting Cruz. By all means, I hope you find a candidate you can support and enjoy!

At the end of day your candidate and my candidate are lot closer to each other than either one is with Hillary agenda.

I like to keep things in context.

“...which candidate is the elite media propping up this week?...”

Don’t know, don’t care, don’t watch/listen. I wish more voters would educate themselves instead of allowing a *clearly* biased media so much influence.

If they teamed up, in either order, they would be unbeatable. It would be interesting to see what all the Freepers would do, especially the ones who’ve drawn “shall not cross” lines in the sand regarding either Cruz or Trump.
