President Obama extended his "warmest wishes" to families across the U.S. celebrating Kwanzaa, a holiday which honors African-American culture.
"Today begins a week-long celebration of African-American heritage and culture through family and community festivities," a statement released the White House on Saturday said.
"Kwanzaa's seven principles -- unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith -- are also shared values that bind us as Americans," he continued. "And in the spirit of the season, we reflect on the blessings of the past year and commit to building a brighter future for all our children.
"As families, friends, and neighbors come together today to light the Kinara, our family sends our best wishes for a happy and healthy new year," Obama concluded.

Yes it is made up....Kwanzaa was established in 1966 in the midst of the Black Freedom Movement .......They tend to "borrow" everything.......looks sort of like a Jewish Menorah with a black center candle of course.
I'll never figure out why they call themselves the Diaspora ....they can return to their ancestral homeland any time they want....but they don't......rather they keep trying to distinguish themselves apart from America.

I would be surprised if even 5% of blacks celebrate this “holiday” and even more astonished if 10% have ever heard of kwanzaa.
We all supposedly come from ‘Mother Africa’. Some black separatists believe (or at least spout) a myth that white people are ‘white devils’, the result of a black scientist’s experiment gone awry.

I was at my friend’s Christmas concert on Friday. He’s an African jazz musician, percussionist l, and band leader. The event was at an African restaurant. Half of the guests and friends were from various parts of Africa, and the other half ex-patriots like me and of course Japanese. All the guests and friends from Africa danced and partied and celebrated Christmas proudly. There was no hint of American “black culture”, and it was awesome.
It’s like “conversating.”

Okay, happy Kawanzanada, the celebration for all y-all who don’t give a crap about everyone else’s stupid insecurities.
I really don’t think most blacks in America are communists, and therefore this kwanza krap is just that. Krap.
Their teachers tell me that the inner city kids laugh at this holiday in Cleveland. Everyone knows it is a joke. Of course, Obama never spent time with actual poor black people. That man has no clue.
