Pope Francis says God opens heaven's doors to non-believers who "obey their conscience," shattering a widely-held assumption about Christian beliefs and reinforcing his image as the most progressive pontiff in history.
"You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don't believe and who don't seek the faith," Francis wrote Friday in an open letter published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. Francis was responding to questions from the paper's 91-year-old founder Eugenio Scalfari, reports Britain's The Independent.

This Il Papa is a perfect mesh for the age of Obama
The Heretic Pope preaches false doctrine. Jesus says,”I am the Way,
the Truth, and Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.”
I believe Jesus.
Ouch, that will leave a mark!
I know that but still hurts me a little inside to know that my best friend who is a good person and a atheist(he has no problem with Christianity) will go to hell
Catholic Heaven sounds a little strict and frankly, just a little boring to a lot of us good old boys brought up on fire and brimstone.
Do you think St. Peter and Pope Frank might sell time=shares to us hillbillies? Ya know, just a spot to sit a spell, scratch where it itches, then return to Earth for fishing and shooting & running our dogs?
He may even be the False Prophet who introduces the Beast to the world.
Do they, at least, have to purchase indulgences?
"The Magisterium is the Church's teaching office established by Jesus Christ to "guard what has been entrusted" (1 Tim. 6:20). The Magisterium, in service to the Word of God, authentically interprets the Word, whether in Scripture or in the form of Tradition. The Magisterium is exercised by the Pope and the bishops in union with him. Because Christ has instituted the Magisterium to communicate His saving truth, the faithful should respond in docility and joy to the Church's teaching out of love for Christ.
Infallibility is a charism whereby the Holy Spirit protects the Magisterium from teaching error on matters of faith and morals. The Church exercises this charism when she teaches definitively, whether in a solemn manner (i.e., through the extraordinary Magisterium) or through the ordinary and universal Magisterium."
The Infallibility of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
Sounds like this "little pearl of wisdom" from the Pope might be considered under the umbrella of Magesterium and is definitely "teaching error on matters of faith".
Well duh. Wasn’t that the point of the parable of the Good Samaritan? What God cares about is how well you treat his children, not your “religion.”
Luke 10:25?
You know what? You may very well be right. Being a fan of Revelations and the end times, I didn't think it would be so obvious.
So Jesus died for nothing?
As reported by that bastion of atheistic journalism, The Boregonian!
Which one? Benny or Bergoglio?
This guy is a complete and utter idiot. He is facing the Lake of Fire unless he repents his gross sins and comes to Jesus Christ. I am seriously doubting he ever came in the first place, otherwise he has gone off the deep end.

1. obstinacy in sin; and,
2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invincible_ignorance_fallacy
The response to 2. is simple: show your evidence.
There’s a reason a synonym for religious belief is “faith”.
Amen. I was about to post that scripture when I got to your post. This man is an imposter.
He is NOT the head of Christianity, Jesus Christ is.
I’d say he is making way for the anti-Christ. He is definitely an imposter.
