Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) is expected to endorse Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for president when he campaigns with him in Iowa next week, Townhall.com reported Saturday.
The influential South Carolina lawmaker will attend town hall rallies on Tuesday and Wednesday during Rubio’s three-day tour through the important caucus state, the Rubio campaign said in a press release Saturday.
"Marco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust,†Gowdy said in an accompanying statement. “I look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him, and introducing my good friend to voters across the state."
A Rubio campaign aide told CNN that Gowdy will offer Rubio his "full support," but stopped short of saying it will be an official endorsement for president.
Gowdy will make appearances at town halls in Clinton, Sioux City, Pella, North Newton and Boone.
The three term representative is best known for leading the House investigation into the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack, in which he presided over testimony from former secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Gowdy introduced Rubio at several events in his early-voting home state last weekend.

We need a USAG who go after anti-religious expression activist states that use state equality laws which are not based on constitutionally enumerated rights to wrongy trump constitutionally enumerated rights. Such state policies violate Section 1 of the 14th Amendment imo.
I was earlier thinking Rep. Gowdy, but he is evidently a constitutionally low-information politician as evidenced by his tentative support for low-information Rubio. Corrections welcome.

It’s why I personally do not trust anyone in D.C. or directly connected to them such as contractors. They’re part of the machine, they know who butters their bread. They understand they have special personal interest at stake.

I’ve listened to all of Trump rallys and interviews and not once have I hear him say anything about Gowdy being his A.G.
A lot of people on here have said that, but I haven’t heard it come out of Trump’s mouth, and until that happens, it’s hear say....
Gowdy had a few good moments that brought him to the attention of many, but he’s just another GOPe guy who’ll work for their agenda, including amnesty and supporting Rubio, the latest GOPe preferred candidate who seems to have some chance of moving up.

It’s about amnesty and the US Chamber, Gowdy has been and is for amnesty. Did he actually accomplish anything with the Benghazi hearings? has hillary suffered any consequence other than inconvenience? What has Gowdy actually done that is conservative?
