It's OK if Cruz supporters want to post their hits on Trump on this thread if they want.
Not that they need my permission.
It's also OK if the Trump supporters want to weigh in and say "I told you so".
I just ask that anything you post be directed at the candidates and not on another. After all, it's Christmas and we have a long, hard slog ahead of us next year.
Oh, I would have mentioned some other candidates but it doesn't look like any of them are relevant anymore.
It’s a two-page article at the link.
Well I believe in teamwork. Both Trump’s and Cruz’s pictures aren’t fully developed yet. Both are improving. Trump has the appeal to Democrat crossover votes that Cruz has yet to show, however the GOP may or may not take this into account if Cruz noses past Trump in GOP primary votes. (I’d hope it would, however, if it really wants to win.) Not making the ticket would still leave Cruz viable as another potent factor in the American scene, and Trump knows it well. Trump’s the possibility guy, he doesn’t believe in lasting enmities for their own sake.
I can’t think of a good reason to read an article by those scumbags at PJ Media.
Then Trump would be surrounded by focus groups, polling companies and consultants...as well as reading the results from a teleprompter.
In reality Trump is comfortable in his own skin.
Georgie is a leading member of the MDSM
(MDSM = Mentally Discombobulated Screaming Media for those in Rio Linda)
Kind of what I have been getting at, but from a different angle. Donald has long been proposing "Let's make a deal." If conservatives don't even TRY to answer that proposal with something more constructive than catcalls... well they really only have themselves to thank, or blame, for the results. Thank the good Lord for fellows like Jeff Sessions who have taken this Trump proposal at face value. When this happens, we get magnificent, if not perfect, manifestos out of Trump. If Trump takes a good idea but goes the wrong way with it, he needs to be steered the right way. The age for expecting perfection out of the box is gone, if it ever had been here in the first place. What are we going to do with the Trump. I hope it's more than thinking we can only throw him over the transom the way he is now. He talks as though he's flexible. Like Simon says (pun intended)... take advantage of that.
I thought for a minute they had Trump confused with obama.
Does Trump have his faults?
Yes.
Can Trump beat Hillary?
A billion times over.
I have read all of Trump's books, enjoyed them because they showed me a different side of me...
I will never be the billionaire in dollars that Trump is and don't want to be, but thru his writings I am a billionaire because I see the good things in life, The American Dream...
Obuma, Clinton, Bushes have taken that American Dream away from us, plunged us down to the bottom of hopelessness, worry, frustration, and anger...
We have a man, no he's not perfect, but this one man can bring back the American Dream for all of us, it might not be all the money in the world, it might not be the home on the sunlite hill you've dreamed about, but what he will bring us is hope again, being able to attain our lives, relieve some of the worry we have, and release the anger we are feeling...
Those are the things Trump has taught me reading his books, have hope, have courage and take on a little more than what you think you can, and you will make it...
Self pity makes for poor box office.
We've had enough of self-pity. Just like how in 1980, Americans were tired of Jimmy Carter's message of America's "inevitable decline" and "malaise."
The answer is obvious. The solution to conservative angst over Trump is simple: stop criticizing him, co-opt him.(emphasis mine)If you want Donald Trump to be your friend, if you want him to be as conservative as Ronald Reagan, love The Donald to death. He will be your friend for life. And he will do what you wish, mostly. Praise every conservative statement out of his mouth and ignore the rest. It will probably change anyway.
“If Trump wins the nomination, prepare for the end of the conservative party”
What conservative party? The GOP hasn’t been conservative in ages.
Uhhh-— for the love of Donald its Merry CHRISTmas-— not Xmas. Its like writng a loved one and saying. Happy Birthday X. Bugs me to no end that Xmas crap. Leave Christ in Christmas—— Amen.
Roger's right.
Gotta suck to be the Donald.
There's a conservative party?? I thought it was only the Democraps and Republicants.
I do not like it when Trump support arrack Cruz, nor do I like is when Cruz supporters attack Trump.
They are two sides of the same coin. Together, they will make America great again!
I Belive is TR-UZ, Justice and the American way!
If Trump wins the nomination what do we do about it.? No more pretentious words wer ever spoken by any elite. As if it is their right to take what the dumb serfs have cobbled together then shape it and direct it for their purpose. It is hard to imagine how entitled the elites feel themselves. And how completely blind they are to what is occurring in front of their nose.
Bump. He could have used Christmas instead of Xmas though.
For those who don't get why some of us want Trump/Cruz for 8 then Cruz/WhoCares for 8 rather than Cruz/SomeoneElse for the first 8 years, it's exactly because if what's above. Cruz can't yet communicate (though he's learning) at a visceral level. Therefore, though he's technically the best candidate, he'd be ineffective in terms of how the country would actually be different after 4 or 8 years.
Let Trump reset the broken bone - which requires a brute force and charisma this minute ... by then - 8 years under (or even around - doesn't have to be Veep) Trump, Cruz will have learned a more Reaganish ability - how to actually reach and affect and change people and their thinking. Being 100% correct is not enough when you are leading a team or country. Cruz is 100% correct ... but he can't get people to follow yet. The people need to be partially retrained in what America is really, and then he needs to be trained in how to be the team captain.
I've said this a million times only because I'm convinced it's true. Americans have forgotten that perpetual shame is not normal, unless you're actually guilty of something. Right now, the country seems to believe it's actually guilty of some sin, but that only Obama and the left has the moral character to understand this sin. So, they just walk around vaguely guilty and depressed, resentful, outnumbered (even 'outnumbered' is only an illusion created by the media.)
Interestingly - it's the same symptoms shown by emotionally abused kids, and should ring a bell with all but the most hypnotized in America. We've all felt them trying to get us to buy into it. I refuse, most here have, but out there ... people are lingering in various extents of it.
If there's an antidote to shame, a model for not being ashamed of what you shouldn't be ashamed of -> it's Trump.
Hence ... Trump, then Cruz.
Boasting/bragging is not politically correct in this era. Its more pc to be self-effacing or self-deprecating. Just another example of how far we have moved. Trump has a certain “swag” and he knows it. Would he make a great president? I’m not sure.
In any event, he is certainly not unique to, nor holds a patent on this type behavior. So many of our greatest have demonstrated this trait also and I often find it a breath of fresh air, especially when it comes from someone who has backed it up.
I long for the days of Muhammad Ali calling the rounds of his KO’s or Joe Namath guaranteeing victory in Super Bowl III. For one, I’d certainly say Trump has potential to be a solid “leader” for our country (as does Cruz) and I stress “leader” because that’s what we badly are in need of.
Maybe we should invent the term droit caviar to describe the GOPe Uniparty members.
