I agree. We got bigger problems than Gay Marriage.

If Trump had said this

Trump said "You have to go with it. The decision's been made, and that is the law of the land," about gay marriage. Sounds worse than what Cruz said, hypocrite.

“Has trump announced that fighting gay marriage is a top three issue?”

And if he said what Cruz is alleged to say, would you be typing how much you “understand” or screaming that he is a liberal shill that is happy to let gay marriage be foisted on America?

Nah. Just when Cruz says it, it’s “Oh well you see this is a good thing because blah blah blah”.

When Trump said that, it was “OMG Trump is a bastard!!!!”

But hey, some of us told you that none of these candidates will be coming out screaming that they were going to overturn this stupid ruling. You guys were the ones that held onto some deluded hope that Cruz would say some magic words to somehow overturn it.

This revelation wasn’t a matter of if Cruz would say that but when.

He hasn’t taken on the mantle of the One True Conservative TM.

Abortion needs addressing before perverted marriages; innocent lives take precedence over anything else.

I guess on another “Andrew Jackson” could change it by saying “Roberts signed his law. Now let him enforce it.”

I am quite happy with Cruz’s response. He supports religious freedom and is against the court forcing gay marriage on the states. He also supports the 10th amendment to the Constitution.

I'm a realist. I realize the Constitutional restraints put on the President and agree with them. That's why when some candidate says they are going to do something that's out of the Presidential powers I question their ability to do the job.

Well....yeah.

Any candidate now can just say the same thing, or that’s what they meant too.

Pretty much this renders gay marriage a non-issue in this primary.

I know that Cruz will actually fight back against the Court in favor of defending religious liberty. It will be a priority for him to try and return to a situation where states can make their own laws on gay marriage. I just don’t think it is a priority for him to try and force Massachussets not to have gay marriage if they want it.

And then he went on to say that it is an issue best left to the states, which is what he has ALWAYS said.

There is an interesting recent conversation between Ted Cruz and Robert George, Ted's former professor at Princeton, that explores the topic of misapplication of judicial power in the gay marriage ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. Statements following the ruling by Justice Kennedy that Ted describes are very chilling.

Ted also relates in detail the arguments he made to members of the studio audience on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which are entirely consistent with what he said to folks attending this recent fundraiser.

For all interested in further educating themselves on Cruz's viewpoints regarding the subject of this FR thread, the video link below is provided. The link is cued up to the segment where gay marriage is discussed and goes through time mark 22:20.

I totally believe that of the three branches of government, Congress is allowing the other 2 to steal their Constitutional powers. Impeachment is the ultimate power to correct the situation, but they don't seem to care.
