Only reason to win Iowa is to shut the Cruz bots up before Trump’s win in NH and all the other states.

I'm thinking you meant to say December 2007 but you make a good point. Eight years ago today, nobody gave Obama a chance against Shrillary. Polls had her up by 20 or 30 points. That changed rather quickly after Iowa. Remember how Shrillary was in meltdown mode in New Hampshire, trying desperately to save her campaign?

I would not be surprised at all if Bernie laid a similar shellacking on her this go-around.

I wonder what the author’s statistical background is.

The front has a pic of Trump in his red hat giving thumbs up. Inside reads: Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays
We are, together, going to Make America Great Again! I Love You All, Donald J. Trump.

I bought 2 signs from his website when he announced.

You can’t begin to compare the two so please stop.

Um, yes I can. The 2008 primary featured two candidates.

1. Clinton: a candidate with high negatives, a big lead in the national polls, huge name recognition and constant media coverage

2. Obama: A very liberal first term senator, who laid down one of the best ground games in his party's primary, started to surge at the right time and used Iowa to launch himself to the presidency and had the organization to carry himself through the next couple of primaries and capture the nomination.

So while these are different parties and different ideologies these are similar candidates in Trump and Cruz. The scenario of 2008 is already playing out with Cruz and Trump. Trump is not giving Iowa away to Cruz, Trump has no ground game, no organization and is relying on the media covering him to gain exposure. I feel pretty good about where Cruz is at right now, he has a great shot at this because he's surging at the right time and has the best organization in the race.

If you even think this article makes sense then you must be for Trump.

Sure, Reagan lost Iowa very narrowly, but there have been candidates who have used Iowa as a springboard to the nomination and the presidency.

So who’s your Obama in the Republican primaries?

It's Cruz, very different ideologies, but very similar campaign tactics and organization. Cruz even studied the 2008 Obama campaign and emulated its structure to win a major upset in Texas when he was running for the Senate.

Obama made Hillary the proverbial offer she could not refuse when they met during the primaries.

It was not a matter of masterful election strategy, as he never had it. It was the media in his corner, covering for him, and the entire progressive machine full tilt pedal to the metal to denigrate first bush, then McCain (albeit the latter was a piece of cake) because they saw him as being more effective for their needs, and a better chance of taking the election.

Then there was the visceral hatred of all things Clinton, even on their side. That is why now, there is lip service for her, but not too much in terms of all out non stop 24/7 Hillary!

OK then Obama had the big crowds and won against Clinton. Now Trump has the biggest crowds and will win against Cruz. Makes perfect sense.

I hate Obama with every fiber in my body, but I can’t deny that the man had an amazing ground game and campaign that changed the way political campaigns are run. Cruz is wise for using it as a model.

Iowa is only the kiss of death if you’re a Santorum or a Gingrich with no money, no organization and no presence in the following primary states.
