If you ask me, it’s more of a kids’ movie, not some new religious fad that fans try to make it.
I liked the first installment in 1977 and saw it numerous times. After that - meh.

Actually, it’s a marketing gimmick. Cupp makes several points in her column about all the advertisers making mucho dinero over this movie.

Same here. First three OK, then suffered through two horrid made-for-TV movies for little kids.
Could not get through next group of movies. Too childish.
Lucas later admitted he made the second group of three for little kids.
But if people want to see it, or not, that is their choice. I’ll pass.

The first one was unique, after that it was all about raking in the cash, kind of like Godfather 23, Karate Kid 31, Rocky 26, Star Wars 8, so on and so forth. Boring and no new ideas in Hollywood. I never got into the Lord of the Rings either.
Too much fantasy, not enough REAL science Fiction.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one because the reviews are good, but I can wait at least a week or two. If nothing else, I figure the longer I wait the less likely I'll have to deal with the dialogue being drowned out by screaming/crying nerds.

I took my 5 y/o son to the 1977 showing ... was blown away. Haven't seen a minute of one since.
