C'mon, the fact that Cruz exposed McConnell, et al and is alienated from the "go along to get along" crowd are among his legitimate qualifications.
You think getting along is always capitulating, but a leader gets along by drawing others to their side. That’s what Reagan did, but I guess you’d say he shouldn’t have been president then.
There’s no point to having taxpayers fund a politician that either capitulates or alienates his party because they don’t accomplish what they are voted in for and paid for.
You missed my point, which is that Cruz does not have the personality to attract followers and friends. He is opposite of Reagan who got along famously with speaker Tip O’Neill and thus was able to get a lot of his agenda passed through congress and become law. Cruz has made more enemies in US Senate than any senator I can think of in 50 years.
