At the very end of the book Shogun, the long time adversary of the new military leader of Japan saw to it that his enemy lived to be a very old man in accord with an old prophecy.
That guy was not so old but his death altered the perception.
I wish that I had retained my copy in order to quote more accurately. I only read the book 3 times.
“As prophesied, he died with his feet planted firmly in the ground, a very old man indeed.”
