If things get heated between Trump and Cruz, it will be interesting. My take on their flare up this past week is different from some. I don’t think it was a case of a media created controversy. I think the leaking of that audio was deliberate on the part of Cruz, to try to prod Trump into the self-destruct that he’s pinning all his hopes on. Big problem for him.
The truth is, Trump has the upper hand and has had it ever since Cruz went knocking on his door for a meeting earlier this year. That was a sign of weakness. Trump can point that out if he so chooses, and can point out Cruz’s disingenuousness of publicly praising hiim while mocking him behind his back. He may even choose to reveal some of the details of his meeting with Cruz. Could be very awkward and embarrassing for him. Cruz has chosen to put himself in a position of weakness with his ‘let Trump self-destruct’ strategy, because there is no viable backup plan if it doesn’t succeed.

Trump sucked all the oxygen out of the room. His bold strokes on immigration, deporting all illegals and securing the borders, even a moratorium on Muslims sets a high standard the others can’t cope with. Anything less looks weak. He’s hitting all the strokes we the people are wanting hit.
