You would think the FBI and Homeland Security would be able to ascertain quite quickly whether or not this is a legitimate terror threat.
Seeing as how the school district loses oodles of federal dollars from sending all those kids home, it would indicate this is a real terror threat.
Hope its nothing and doesn’t turn out to be a head fake to get the kids to less secure locations (like a mall) so islamokazi’s can work with impunity.
What terrorist threat? There is no terrorist threat in America. Hussein Obama said so. He wouldn’t lie to us. He is our prez. An honest and law abiding man. A man of integrity. A man of . . . . UGGGGGGGG I am even making my self sick typing this!!!! Ugggg.
Lots and lots of Progressive-Democrat scu*bags in California who vote for other Progressive-Democrat scu*bags.
IMHO
“No child left unfrightened”?
This smells like a script kiddie with access to a German server (FrankFurt, Germany is a main IT hub that has Amazon Web Services as a major data center). He found the board member’s email, emailed him / her from that address. He crafted the email with elements from his own school. School board freaks out, doesn’t talk to IT and over reacts.
Welcome to your new normal America.
Daily Terror Threats, increasing terror attacks, more and more muslim immigrants, Christian persecution, shrinking Christian population, growing atheist population, growing muslim population, shrinking heterosexual population, growing homosexual, bisexual and pedophile population.
Hope and change has come to America.
We obviously need Email. Text, Twitter, whatever Control to stop situations like this from happening.
I wonder of they’ll trace this back to a Computer in a UK Government Office?
This is how our enemies win. Some jihadist screams allah akhbar into a phone, and the schools for the second largest city in the country shut down. Which means that roughly a half million parents have to arrange for daycare or stay home. Net economic impact: probably in the area of $50 to $100 mil. All for the cost of what? A phone call? A tweet?
I can’t believe they haven’t been doing this every single day. Lulling us into a false sense of security and then -————— KABOOM!
Probably, could be, a test to see how this is handled. Good exercise for our side, and a good source of information for how to use our response to their advantage by the other side.
Regardless it’s one hell of a cost to taxpayers either way, but what is one to do otherwise.
New York called the threat to their school system a hoax, and went on about their business. Let’s hope they were right.
something really big is brewing.
Now I know why.
I explained the concept of Wolves, Sheep and SHEEPDOGS to them and we read Grossman's essay on the subject out loud in class. I told them that Florida was full of sheepdogs, dedicated to keeping them safe and they were always around, even if the kids might not see them.
This document was sent to us as a guide to handling the questions that may be raised by our students:
Helping Students Cope with Threats of Violence-Tips for Educators
The highly publicized acts of terrorism in Paris, France and San Bernardino, California have created safety and security concerns around our country.
In recent days, messages threatening violence in some of our nation's schools have added to the level of anxiousness experienced by some parents and students.
Last evening, Miami-Dade County Public Schools received such a threat; the threat was investigated and determined not to be credible. All parents of M-DCPS students have been notified of this situation and encouraged to have their children attend school today. Although the threat was not credible and our schools are safe and secure, there may be some anxious students and parents that you may come in contact with over the next two days.
In an effort to alleviate their angst, the following recommendations are provided:
Model calm and control.
Reassure children that they are safe.
Remind them that caring adults are watching over them.
Be truthful with students and avoid unnecessary details.
Keep your explanations developmentally appropriate.
Maintain a normal routine.
Restrict exposure to media coverage of the threats.
Observe children's emotional reactions to the situation.
Assist students in processing their thoughts and emotions.
Provide special support and reassurance to students who may have strong reactions.
Refer students who may be having a difficult time to the school counselor for support.
Contact the parents of children who are having difficulty controlling their emotions.
