Rush Limbaugh today criticized Donald Trump for his attacks on Ted Cruz, but upon being informed the media thinks he turned on Cruz, Limbaugh insisted he did no such thing.
In case you missed it, after Trump called Cruz a "mania" yesterday who can't get anything done in Congress, Limbaugh today criticized him for echoing the establishment. He said, "Any of you who are holding out hope that Trump is a genuine conservative... a genuine conservative would not go after Cruz this way."
Well, during his show, Limbaugh founds out the media already picked up his criticism. He clarified, "I havenât turned on anybody. I haven't thrown anybody away. I haven't announced support for anybody."
He insisted he was just disappointed and asking a question about Trump's attack on Cruz "because it sounded like the same kind of criticism we would get from the establishment Republicans."
Limbaugh did muse over whether Trump would turn on him next, but figured it wouldn't happen.
For what it's worth, Limbaugh wasn't nearly as restrained in his criticism as Mark Levin was later in the day.
He reported facts. Nothing more.
Rush did a pivot in the second hour. Some have suggested that he got a hold or listened to the leaked audio tape where Cruz questioned Trump’s judgement.
“Rush Limbaugh today criticized Donald Trump for his attacks on Ted Cruz”
Cruz fired the first shot.
Behind closed doors.
Like a coward.
He is just a steel town boy on a Saturday night
Looking for the fight of his life
In the real time world, no one sees him at all
They all say he’s crazy
Locking rhythms to the beat of his heart
Changing movement into light
He has danced into the danger zone
When the dancer becomes the dance
It can cut you like a knife
If the gift becomes the fire
On the wire between will and what will be
He’s a maniac, maniac on the floor.
Because “Donald McCain “ is a fact?
Sounds like Rush is flip flopping here.
For what it's worth, Limbaugh wasn't nearly as restrained in his criticism as Mark Levin was later in the day.
Interesting. Levin had more time to digest the information.
That doesn’t really make sense. Rush’s criticism was that Trump attacked Cruz like the Dems or the Establishment would from the left. Nothing in an audio tape, certainly not something as mild as what Cruz said, is going to change that fact.
And that, indeed, is a gift to the Left. Could they possibly have engineered it?
Lost me there, partner. I did hear Rush, though. And stand by my comment.
“He reported facts. Nothing more.”
That’s right. Trump shot himself in the foot over Cruz, Scalia, and ethanol, no one pulled the trigger except The Donald.
Rush did say what the article says as I heard it in the 3rd hour of the show.
The Left is projecting again, any criticism of THEIR people by other people on THEIR side is people “turning on them”
The Left Values unquestioning loyalty. That is why their debates are such love fests.
The right (at least conservatives) value the truth and debate and internal criticism so it is no surprise the the left sees this as “Turning on their own”
The p&ming about Cruz’s initial denial is funny. Both the comment (which he knew would get out) and the denial were intended to get under Trump’s skin. The comment was a big nothing burger. Cruz will continue to needle Trump. He better get used to it. Conversely, there is nothing Trump can say to Cruz that hasn’t already been said before.
[ Cruz fired the first shot.

Can You imagine if the same sorta sound clip came from Hillary blasting Sanders? The Clintonistas would be suing the news media to not release it and the person with the tape recorder would have to avoid parks and parking garages for the rest of their lives.
Trump is not Donald McCain.
I know John McCain’s record, and if Rush wants to take Trump to task for doing something he didn’t care for, he should be specific and on point.
John McCain is one of America’s most despicable citizens.
I would reserve this insult for people like Jane Fonda, George Soros, Obama, or some of the slimiest Democrats.
Rush called Trump “Donald McCain.”
He reported facts. Nothing more.

You are wrong! Rush called Trump Donald McCain...said he was suspicious of Trump
