Not voting helps the other side win. Basic math.
But you just go ahead and bask in your self righteousness, there, Finny.
Try not to faint from the lack of oxygen on your mountaintop of moral authority.
Very interesting.
Trump supporters claim to absolutely loathe the "GOP establishment" more than anyone else, but they use the exact same "logic" and talking points that the GOP establishment pushes EVERY election cycle:
Shame on Rush Limbaugh for being such a polarizing divisive figure and touting super conservative candidates.... this is NOT about ideology, it's about WINNING... your hard-core conservative candidate may be a good man, but he is UNELECTABLE and only appeals to a very narrow segment of right-wingers... In the primary, we must ALL unite behind a candidate with a long track record of supporting liberal causes because ONLY HE can beat the Democrats in November... blah blah blah...
You’re exactly right.
Ask yourself...do you REALLY believe that there was that much of a swing in a week? Just think it through...Trump just blasted everyone with Muslim immigration, and got a huge bump...the PTB can’t have that going into a Repub debate, so they had to overhype some Iowa endorsements and make it seem like the polls have suddenly had a 20 point switch overnight...come on...Sure Cruz is probably gaining, Iowa is a good match for him...but 20 point switch (remember CNN poll had Trump up 13 in IA the week before, and now we’re supposed to believe he is down 10? That’s a 23 point swing). It’s all hyped to try to bring the next “threat” to Trump (remember everyone else who was “soaring”?).Soon we’ll be hearing how he is going to drop out again, and then the next polls will show he has gained even more. The latest national poll has hit at 41% and Cruz is less than 20%. Yes, there is no national primary, but it still is a good “pulse check”.
Cruz should very nicely respond something like this:
Cruz should stay out of behind closed doors donors meetings if he is going to say something and then deny and dodge afterwards. Be a man and own it.
Dang! I’m sorry I missed that segment! I was afraid he was going to go down to the wire pumping up Trump! :)
Rush then reveals......
....."When Trump dumped on Cruz for being opposed to ethanol...In other words, we as Republicans must support government subsidies to corn farmers in Iowa if we're to have any chance of winning Iowa?.... that, again, is NOT a conservative position. To go after Cruz on that basis, is again the way the Democrats and the media would go after him.
Then when Trump was asked about Scalia Trump said..." I was very surprised at Scalia's statements, actually."...But as Rush clarified..." Well, they weren't "Scalia's statements." They were arguments that had been submitted to the court that he was engaging in oral argument over. ....
Rush then speaking to Conservative voters....." these are two things that, If you're a conservative voter in the Republican primary, these two things have gotta raise some red flags for you people..."
....”Trumps appeal goes beyond Conservative or Liberal. It crosses party lines and is broad.”.......
Not in Iowa obviously....and it remains to be seen if nation wide as thick as Trump , his followers and the varied polls want to be “believed” as so... Being popular is one thing....hitting the actual mark is another....time will tell....the ground is shifting.
I agree. I’m glad he finally sees Trump for what he is, an unprincipled and vainglorious agitator. Trumps use of Liberal talking points on Cruz shows how mercurial and wishy washy he is. He’s actually attacking Cruz for not bending to the Left to get things done, which is, as Rush said, much like McCain says. Cruz doesn’t want to be a Democrat; he wants to stand up for conservative principles. Trump will fold for the Democrats quickly if elected so he can say he’s the deal maker.
So I think we'll see the media's "political hand" at work .....Cruz knows this and he's not going to take his position on stage unless he determines THIS is the time and place, no matter where they position him.
I'm very curious to see his move at this debate, if he moves, because so far his campaigns run right on the mark that he's wanted in timing, place and garnering the solid base support he knows will carry him to the Presidency as well.....
It's been fascinating and then some watching Cruz as the other candidates work their campaigns.......he's been steady and consistent working below the radar ,as said...he's done remarkably well building a "firm" grassroots foundation that will not shake.
"So Trump's decided to go after Cruz here in the way the establishment Republicans go after Cruz, in the way the media goes after Cruz, in the way the Democrats go after Cruz. He's essentially put on his John McCain hat here and is saying, "I'm Donald McCain, and I'm the guy that can cross the aisle and work with the other side. Ted Cruz can't."...... I was kind of surprised by that." - Rush Limbaugh
Yes, Rush IS RIGHT on this....
Cruz can and WILL !!!
YES, and Cruz is doing so with Presidential Dignity!!!!
your argument sounds so familiar..
GO ROMNEY GO... a TRUE CONSERVATIVE CAN’T WIN..
That is the GOPe argument and I for one won’t buy into it one more time!! Trump is a Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwartenbomb!!
ditto... I am so glad he opened up full throttle today. I only heard part of it but what I did hear made me shout in the car as I was driving ~GO TED GO!!!!
Thanks for the ping.
Not voting helps the other side win. Basic math fallacy.
There. Fixed it for you.
I think you nailed it.
