It’s Cruz, not Trump, who looks more like favorite to win GOP nomination
WaPo ^ | 12-13-2015 | Chris Cillizza

The Iowa caucuses are seven weeks away. Donald Trump is still the Republican front-runner. Sen. Marco Rubio is, for now, the establishment’s best (only?) hope. And Sen. Ted Cruz is the guy who looks best positioned to win.

Yes, you heard that right.

Cruz (R-Tex.), as of today, has the most direct route to the Republican presidential nomination — assuming that the past history of GOP nomination fights works as a broad predictor of where the 2016 race is headed.

Let me elaborate.

1. Cruz is positioned as the most conservative candidate in the race. Although Trump gets all the attention for his over-the-top statements, Cruz has staked out a position on the far right on virtually every major hot-button issue, including immigration, Obamacare, national security and the fight against the Islamic State militant group. And, tonally, Cruz comes across as aggressively and unapologetically conservative — a less controversial and more electable version of real estate magnate Trump.

I hope WaPo is right about Cruz being the nominee. And I think they are smug if they think Hilllary will beat him so easily.

Hey, nutmeg, it isn’t a joke. It’s on the internet if you care to do your homework. Cruz did work on the recount, but didn’t finish - went back to DC, and then returned. No, it was a fair recount, and even so, who was governor of Florida at the time? None other than Jeb Bush. You are so pathetic.

The last two, two-term presidents began by winning the Iowa caucuses.

Vice versa.

Palin and Cruz will be helpful to the Trump campaign trail.

The pathology is at your feet. (Pathetic!)

Cruz won the court cases, not the recount, and they were won in D.C.

The Trump campaign, if there is one, will be Democrat top to bottom.

Same here. This far right conservative supports Trump as do my center/right conservative female associates. We know the business environment, as well as our kids and grandkids futures, needs a YUGE dose of Trump, to turn this mess around.

We’re ALL sick and tired of the DC BS. I don’t know ANYONE of my associates that trust any of the politician candidates, on either side. Even the more center/lefty associates and co-workers like Trump over any other Pubbie candidate.

I didn’t say he won the recount. He was in Florida to help with the recount. Here you go -

Now, you tell me who’s pathological? Not me.

The recount was crooked as can be, and thus Cruz had to go to court to stop the recount.

He won both cases at SCOTUS.

Who cares about your HuffPo crapola?

Serving as council was his appointed job, should he not have done it?

You are a head case.

LOL!

To stooopid to understand that 90% of Trump is politician?

Payoffs were his stock in trade.

Don’t trust politicians unless you are infatuated with them.

No, it wasn’t his job - he was private legal counsel, not appointed. You are a nasty little troll and a creep. You can’t admit that your Mr. Walk on Water, is a two-faced liar. Oh yes, he lied about that audio until it surfaced. He tried to weasel out of it, but it was out there for everyone to hear. So, now - go back under your bridge - they are missing their troll.
