Trump spoke tonight in Des Moines, IA

I watched the entire speech.

He said Cruz was against ethanol and he, Trump, was not.

He was taking questions from the audience and when asked about it he said he guessed it was because Cruz was from an oil state, texas, and was somewhat beholding to big oil because they donate to his campaign.

In another question he was asked if there were a place for Cruz either on his ticket or with the SC as a justice.

Trump replied that he liked Cruz a lot and that if he, Trump, were elected there would definitely be a high place for Cruz. He made a few more complimentary comments also.

My point: If you didn’t watch the entire speech and the Q&A then you’re simply responding to an article designed to pit Trump against Cruz and that IS NOT what went down.

Cruz is not running for VP..

There is no excuse for supporting Ethanol, other than pandering to Iowa and the farm belt.

It is what it is...

The media has been ordered to manufacture a fight between Trump and Cruz

Another of many squalls they’ll have to weather

Jump in the water’s fine

Yeah, and your point is ... ?

The article points out that the ethanol industry exists because of government coercion in the form of subsidies. The oil industry can get along on its own without them.

Supporting ethanol is dumb and pro-government.

I think you are missing the point here, VideoDoctor. The point of these posts by Cincinatus Wife is to smear Trump.

Please dont get in the way. She has a job to do. Shes getting paid big bucks to do it and none of us have the right to interfere with her extra income.

I’ll take you at your word that Trump was not bashing Cruz, but merely pointing out a difference in their issue positions. And I certainly have no problem with candidates pointing out their primary opponents’ positions and past statements and votes.

But what we all should be aware of is that, once again, Donald Trump is trying to win the primary by taking a liberal position on an issue. Ethanol subsidies are the one thing that envirowackos, protectionists and big-government backers all support, and Trump once again “leads from behind” by taking a stance that he knows will be popular with his audience that particular day. Trump acts more like a politician than do the elected officials that he belittles as mere politicians.

Trump’s best strategy might be to say that he likes Cruz and thinks he would make a good apprentice for him, but that Cruz is not ready to lead a government after not even finishing one Senate term. While Trump has led a large organization with lots of employees. Trump just doesn’t have a chance going after Cruz on the issues. He should play up the executive experience part of his resume against Cruz.
