Agreed. I’m also a big Trump supporter, but I disagree with him on ethanol. I’d like to see some other states move their primaries to the same day as the Iowa caucus so as to lessen Iowa’s (or, for that matter, any one state’s) influence.

Sorry, feel like I let you guys down. My phone died right after he got started which was a major fail on my part. The crowd was over 2000 and they said it was the largest Town Hall ever in the history of Iowa.
I did get a few pictures, so I’ll try to post them tomorrow. (heading to bed now)

Wow, I have a lot of reading to catch up on in this thread. hah

Had a great time at the event and Trump did a great job. I felt there were two distinct moments that stood out for me in the crowd. The first was when Trump teased that he had plans for Cruz in his administration. I hadn’t heard him go that far, but after the Cruz love fest I feel stronger than ever that they are up to something good.

The second moment was when the lady from the State GOP (I think) that went on about how he was in line with all the Republican platform issues, but still got no support from the GOPe. He did a wonderful job of explaining that and the way the lady framed the question was masterful.

I decided it would be best to not try and streak across the stage, so alas no 15 minutes of fame for this freeper. lol

Well, the USofA has been subsidizing ethanol for nearly 40 years. That’s right...40 years!

If the govt would stop the mandate for blending ethanol with oil, that would put a stop to the subsidies.

As it is.....who in the last 40 years has actually been able to stop the subsidies, regardless of “talk”?

I was a little turned off by the ethanol speak as well. Obviously it’s blatant pandering to the Iowans, but I was joking with my friend who I went with that he said he supported ethanol, but he never said he supported government subsidies for it. lol
That would be funny.
President Trump: “Yeah, ethanols great. Go make it and sell it to whoever wants to buy your overpriced corn juice on the open market.” The problem will fix itself from there. :)

Lol! Yeah, I was thinking that as well.

Here's a quiver for you Jane. Ethanol RFS being a mandate does not cost the US tax payers or the Fed government a single cent. So technically it's not a government "subsidy".

See the 9th paragraph.

It’s like abortion. One guy last night was demanding to see Trump’s Executive Order plans on Abortion. I asked him to provide Ted’s and instead of admitting Ted doesn’t have one in mind, he kept trying to trash Trump.

Nobody can move into the White House and stop abortion by themselves. Who knew?

The honesty isn’t very strong with some groups.

I was at the Gore War, but I didn’t know anyone at the time...I was a relatively new Freeper. I was also at the Capitol when the Obamacare vote was taken...again, didn’t meet anyone. Evil Conservative and I did meet in Florida to support Terri Schaivo.

Saying “if I make it” or “if I am elected President” instead of when is common. It is done to not appear over confident or seem as if you are taking the voters for granted.
