Democrats gained the political muscle to push the Affordable Care Act (ACA) through Congress on three basic arguments.
First, they argued that the United States had too many uninsured people, with estimates ranging from 30 million to 45 million.
Second, the rise in costs for health care outstripped inflation, and the market required an intervention that would bend the cost curve downward.
Third, Democrats claimed that insurance companies made too much profit and shorted most consumers on care, while those with generous health plans - so-called "Cadillac plans" - drove up utilization rates and costs for everyone else.

Probably designed to fail so the Dems can implement “single payer” government run so-called health care.
Health insurance is sooooo 20th century.
Just saying.
We didn’t have everyone covered, so Obamacare came along.
If we had everyone covered, it wouldn’t have.
Why isn’t there a political price to be paid by those who foisted this abomination onto the American public? Anyone involved with this monstrosity should be relegated to the outer regions of hell with sharp sticks rammed into their nether regions. Instead, they will be given every opportunity to ‘fix’ the situation.
Persistent Vegatative State.
You kmow what the left was rooting for with Schiavo.
I say we figuratively do the same thing to this monstrosity.
There’s no “probably” to it. That was the damn plan.
” Democrats gained the political muscle to push the Affordable Care Act (ACA) through Congress on three basic arguments.”
What political muscle - all the repubs voted against, and they even had to bribe some Rats and bypass the filibuster by passing it on a budget reconciliation basis which was totally bogus.
Gruber. Where’s his head?
If we had everyone covered, it wouldnât have.”
IMO we had everyone covered that should have been or wanted to be covered at some level. There is always going to be a certain percentage of any population that wants someone else to pay their bills or thinks that medical insurance should cover everything. Obamacare supports continued irresponsibility for those that are irresponsible.
With 12.5 million Californians of 100% subsidized Medi-Cal (Medicaid) Obamacare ain’t going away. These people vote.
Didn't Medicaid exist before Obamacare? Aren't they independent?
Medicaid is medical welfare. It's been around since 1965.
That's what I thought. It should be possible to repeal Obamacare without repealing Medicaid.
My BC/BS up 20% for 2016. Now $1260/mo for just me which puts it around a third of my take home.
Was half of my mortgage payment, pre-Obama. Now its double that.
Who’s the “we” you are referring to? Are you saying this “we” should cover every one and since “we” did not, we have Obamacare? If so the you are saying that Obamacare happens because “we” didn’t cover everyone.
More of the BS of; if conservatives will fix problems as perceived by the left then we won’t get laws imposed by the left.
How about this. There is no reason for “we” to cover anyone. Your premise is flawed and is socialism.
Control is what they want....Dims/Pubs...that's what they want.
Trillions of $$$$.,,,,is what they want.
They all want the MONEY...and the CONTROL!!
Obamacare was about forcing working people to buy overpriced garbage policies to subsidize people on Medicaid.
All at the barrel of a gun of course.
