Trump: 'I'm doing good for the Muslims'
CNN ^ | 12/10/2015 | By Gregory Krieg

Facing harsh criticism for his proposal to temporarily halt Muslim immigration to the U.S., Donald Trump on Wednesday said he was acting in the Islamic community's best interests.

"I'm doing good for the Muslims," Trump told Don Lemon in an interview for "CNN Tonight." "Many Muslim friends of mine are in agreement with me. They say, 'Donald, you brought something up to the fore that is so brilliant and so fantastic.'"

Among those reaching out to thank him, the Republican front-runner said, was "one of the most important people in Middle East" -- Trump didn't reveal the name -- who called on Wednesday to say, "Donald, you're doing a great service."

"I have many friends who are Muslims," Trump told Lemon. "They're phenomenal people. They are so happy at what I'm doing."

The feeling, he said, is mutual.

"I love the Middle East," Trump declared. "I love the people of the Middle East."

Trump also said his plan had been misrepresented and explained that the immigration ban may not last long.

"It could go quickly, but it's a subject that has to be discussed," he said, adding that there would be exceptions for Muslim athletes and diplomats.

As President, Donald Trump would have full legal authority under U.S. Law to do exactly what he has proposed.

What hasn't been made clear is how he would accomplish it.

I generally support Trump’s moratorium idea, but I don’t support bullshit superlatives like that above......

Ca-ir (correct pronunciation) is an offshoot of Hamas. That’s all you need to know.

I have been saying this for years... That if there truly are Muslims that want to live in concert with other faiths, and are not militant in any way, they had better step up to the plate or truly innocent Muslims will suffer.

Read the law above.

it is by proclamation.

According to that US Law, if he as President feels that there is a danger to US Interests, he simply proclaims it.

According to the US Code, it then has the force of law until he rescinds it.

“Has any study been performed on the Trump supporters to determine if they represent the income tax payers in the country?”

More bashing of Trump supporters- it’s reaching a new low.

“It is NOT un-Constitutional, Article 6 Paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution regarding no religious test refers specifically and only to the election of Congress...not to immigration.

As President, Donald Trump would have full legal authority under U.S. Law to do exactly what he has proposed.”

Awesome, thank you for the clarification.

This is something I don’t see anyone answering. No one can deny the President has the authority to do this, by fiat. That’s not the issue (at least for me)

The issue is: *how* will he implement the plan? What are the specifics?

Will he force immigrants to draw a cartoon of Muhammed, thus “proving” they aren’t Muslim?

Has there been some blood test developed that shows one is a Muslim?

Exactly how will this “ban on all Muslims” be enforced and accomplished? Maybe you can help me because when I asked the question before on another thread I got the cartoon suggestion above and also was accused of being a “concern troll”.

It’s not “concern trolling” to ask a simple question about logistics. At least it better not be, or else I give up because then all reason is truly lost.

There was an Iman from Texas on Fox yesterday supporting Trump. I am sure there are a lot of Muslims across the country who support Trump. They do not want the radicals in this country.

You know that if Trump does take the nomination he's going to do a hard left towards the middle. And when that happens it's going to be interesting to hear his bombastic statements then. And what his true believes have to say.

While we do not have sufficient data to thoroughly vet these people in terms of their detailed activities, I believe we can determine with some degree of certainty whether they adhere to Islam.

For example, the woman who came in on the VISA to be Syed’s wife, not only indicated she was, but Pakistan had the data that she had been a member of the Red Mosque.

There are relatives that can be asked. There are acquaintances that can be asked. They can be observed. In many places there is basic boirth data.

Such data is not enough to determine if they are radicalized perhaps (though in that woman’s case it most certainly should have been IMH).

Finally, if we find that that is too difficult, we can do exactly what others have done...no Iranians, No Syrians, etc. from nations that are by far and away predominantly Islamic. I have a feeling this data point will be the initial deciding one.

According to the US Code, it then has the force of law until he rescinds it.

There's an exchange between two characters in one of Shakespeare's plays. In it Glendower says to Hotspur, "I can call forth demons from the vasty deep." To which Hotspur replies, "So can I. So can any man. But will the come when you call them?"

President Trump can issue any proclamation he wants and ban every Muslim on the planet from entering the U.S. He still has to enforce it and he has to identify Muslims as they try and come in. They don't have bar-codes. They don't have their religion on their passports. They come from every country and every race and they may or may not be willing to abide by the ban. So how do you identify they to ensure not a single one enters the country?

I generally support Trump's moratorium idea, but I don't support bullshit superlatives like that above.

C'mon C, it's just Trump twisting the tail of the tiger.

He's laugh'en his ass off over these tw_ts, with their bb sized balls all huffen and puffen at his "unconstitutional ban".

With Trump, it's all superlative bullshit, but, there is a kernel of truth inside the manure pile, and no msm member can figure out why the American people are with him.

There is no quit in Trump, no apologizing, no backing down.

"It's a sign of weakness to apologize", so saith Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
