Billionaire businessman Donald J. Trump has a 10-point over his closest 2016 GOP competitor, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, in a national poll on the race for the Republican presidential nomination out Tuesday.
Mr. Trump was at 27 percent in the USA Today/Suffolk University poll, followed by Mr. Cruz at 17 percent, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 16 percent, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 10 percent. (excerpt)

For those who disagree with my assessment, is it because you want to cease Muslims coming here for a long or indefinite time? I suspect a significant chunk of both Freepers and the general population might favor that, but I don't think that is what Trump proposed this week. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Trump deserves credit (or blame) for what he's said, but doesn't deserve credit/blame for positions beyond what he said. People may or may not think Cruz's proposed rules are adequate. If so what rules would you propose instead to replace the status quo after Trump's muslim immigration pause? No Muslims forever is NOT an acceptable final solution for Trump by my reading of what he said.
Re: The more you clowns repeat this in light of reality, the less most of us think of Cruz if he is as obnoxious as some of his blowhard supporters
Disclaimer: I agree with much of what Trump says, and will vote for him if he WINS the nomination. That said I can’t decide who is more obnoxious, Trump or his cult-like zombied-out followers. You call Cruz’s supporters clowns yet expect tolerance for the lightweight emotionally charged invective which serves as validation of his eminence. When you expose your thin skinned sensitivities at any positive for another candidate it makes us wonder if you are a liberal or just a faux conservative who would sit out the election if Trump does not get his way. Pathetic
I like Trump and Cruz but Rubio is scary. A mystery why Rubio would be #3.
Vinl..I am 100% Trump...however, in a “normal world” and Trump was not running...I would likely choose Cruz. It really would not surprise me if he is V.P pick.
My bigger concern is Cruz's ability to manufacture an Electoral victory compared to Trump. Cruz would pretty much lose the northeast and west coast, whereas Trump would put the northeast in play, quite possibly New York. Take New York, and Hillary's road to the White House becomes very difficult.
I haven't yet seen a poll putting Trump up in OH, but have seen some with him tied. Portman is down in most polls here, which suggests the GOPe brand isn't going to fly.
He cannot be the nominee.
He'll be gone by Labor Day.
What? He's still with us.
Well, he'll be gone by Thanksgiving...if not by Christmas
Boosh will win...that's been pre-arranged.
How can he be losing support of conservatives?
