GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz said Tuesday that he disagrees with rival Donald J. Trump's plan to ban Muslims from coming into the United States until the federal government can ensure that those coming into the nation do not pose a threat to the country.
"I do not agree with his proposal," the Texas senator said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. âI do not think it is the right solution.â
Mr. Cruz said that some have encouraged him to criticize Mr. Trump, but said he will not to so. Instead, he said he is pushing solutions aimed at putting a three year moratorium on refugees from Syria and Iraq, and giving governors more power to stop refugees from being resettled in their states.
Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates in the GOP field ..with the exception of Mr. Cruz .. though he warned at a rally in South Carolina that he will respond in kind if Mr. Cruz attacks him.

I’m not your chum, FRiend.
I bucked you a few days ago, but you have some excellent points and they need to be recognized.
If you (rhetorical you) actually DO buy this stuff on a spiritual level, then you’re on Satan’s special fighter waiting list. Polls have found good support among moderates for approval, if not commitment to do likewise, for things like 9/11.
I know you (Agnes) are concerned about issues of hiding this. And that’s a valid concern too.
It is fake.

That’s nice, now I want to see someone who is a gun grabber, not in the sense of the government confiscation and banning people, but in the sense of grabbing his gun and going to a war that makes sense with actual consequences.
Weak is fine.
But it makes no sense given the other things he’s said that this isn’t entirely logical.
Trump has followed the logic to its natural conclusion.
If you don’t want Syrian terrorists granted entry, then you don’t want any terrorist granted entry.
Something like that, but more subtle. I think Trump might even be hiding the whole byplay in his and Cruz's rhetoric so it can't be spotted. These guys aren't stupid and anybody who assumes they are.... Well you know about the word ASSUME, right?
I know, and I rub it in.
Agreed.
Just how would a no-muslime-entry be implemented? Does the immigration agent ask the traveler potential ISIS terrorist "Are you a Muslim?"? Remember taqiyya. Does the agent ask the traveling to recite some phrase from the Koran - and when he/she does, prevent entry? Just looking like a more workable plan is to prevent entry from muslime countries - and Cruz here is being only too restrictive, with just Syria and Iraq. It should be expanded to the 57 states.
No body is perfect, that said, Ted is still my #1. I agree with him here as well. Will Republican voters? Some will, I actually don’t think this hurts EITHER of them. It will simply cement those who were trending toward them, to decide for them. I think this is going to help both candidates believe it or not, we shall see.
Those are not proof of anything but something found on the Internet. The pictures of mosques could be from anywhere.
Clinton tweeted that Trump’s proposal was “reprehensible, prejudiced and divisive.” Huma Abedin, Clinton’s campaign vice-chairwoman, sent out an e-mail to Clinton supporters with the subject matter — “I’m a proud Muslim.”
“Unfortunately, Trump is leaning into the kind of fear of progress that very well could help him win the nomination,” Abedin wrote. “We have to be ready to stop him.”

Waah, can’t do, can’t do!
It’s not like similar ideological screenings have always been an utter flop (hint: look for GOOD guys and say yes, the rest are no).
Try boiling anger. CA is crawling with Muslims not to mention millions of government sponsored illegal aliens.
You have no idea the level of anger in CA and much of the rest of the country.
There is simply no way to tell if you’re importing a lazy muslim who will be a perfectly good neighbor or a devout but dishonest one who will kill thousands given the opportunity.
No. Way. To. Tell.
And similarly no way to tell when the good ‘lazy’ muslim neighbor will suddenly return to the religion of his forbears and kill thousands at the first opportunity.
Why do you try to deceive FReepers with false claims?

And the link to the university web site?
Why do you support islam???
Thanks.
I’m not seeing ‘fear’, either, but I *am* hearing lots of rage.
Trump’s horn is making their ears ring!!
Oh my, fear of progress of letting the evil in. Evil that we know very well from world history what it does.
If Abedin wants the Moose to stop terrorizing, then they should become Christian. Ann Coulter wasn’t utterly wrong, though I say Christianity should be offered as an option as an alternative to no-go at all, and some spiritually knowledgeable screening for sincerity (devout Catholics, and folks like Franklin Graham) should be used.
