The country’s largest Muslim advocacy and civil rights organization tonight condemned Donald Trump’s call for barring Muslims from the United States as "bigoted remarks."
"This is outrageous from someone who wants to assume the highest office,” Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), said at a Capitol Hill news conference, adding that Trump’s newly stated position is “un-American."
Awad opened the news conference praising President Obama’s call in his televised address Sunday not to target the U.S. Muslim community.
Against that backdrop, Awad said, "We were extremely shocked to see Donald Trump calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”
He added: "Donald Trump sounds more like the leader of a lynch mob than a great nation like ours," calling his behavior "a great service to ISIS."

Republicans and CNN are going on a four to five hour ballistic tirade against Trump.
Don Lemon is beating Katrina Pierson like a drum, overriding her answers, filibustering and running end to end quotes from Republican governors and candidates bashing Trump, and has that Mercedes girl on, who is the GOP shill bashing Trump. Lemon also showed a clip from GRETA interviewing Trump by phone, where Greta corners TRUMP on Muslims in our military trying to return home! Did his proposal cover them too! Of course not!
Same with Wolf Blitzer and ALL his guests. Anderson Cooper too, who had on Trump’s friend on, Jeffery Lord, who did a terrible and unprepared job defending the Trump statement.
They are in full court press to destroy TRUMP in one night.
TONIGHT is that night. The GOP is running with this one and believe me, it’s different. It is all out war against TRUMP.

Thanks for the report on how the media and the GOP-E are apoplectic about Trump’s announcement.
This is the moment they have been waiting for. They “knew” Trump would screw up at some point and they were ready to pounce, to finish him off, for the good of the party, you know.
Trump is not going to back done.
And when he does not, the efforts of the media and the Gop will crash and subside like a big wave hitting a seawall, accomplishing nothing but sound and fury.
They think they can make Trump change his mind.
He has already calculated their response, and he has his own plans on how to play this.

After last night with the wimp being pulled and forced to address the nation on whatever in the heck it was he was trying to say, Trump won the election and he proved it today by saying that Muslims are no longer allowed to come into America until people can find out who they are and where they are coming from....I don't hear and haven't heard any Muslims anywhere stand up and say anything...which shows me they are just what they are, KILLERS...
Trump announced tonight in his speech how the Muslims are wanting Sharia Law and 51% of the people want it...and they have no idea what it even is...it's frightening and it's sickening what is happening to our beloved America...by one man named obuma....
I pronounce the name of the unindicted co-conspirators of 9/11 as CA-IR.
I wish that talk show host would do the same. It would make red blooded Americans cringe by the muslim sound of it.
Take back our language, starting with CA-Ir instead of “care,” and maybe we will get back “gay” back too.
