After a coordinated DC Media attack that would have ground any other candidate into ash and dust, Donald Trump has not only held on to first place in the latest CNN national poll of GOP primary voters, he has surged +9 points to a massive +20 point lead. As of now, in a 12 person race, Trump sits at an astonishing 36%; his closest rival, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% , jumped +12 points to 16% support.
Despite spending tens of millions of dollars on ads, Jeb Bush sunk -5 points to just 3% support.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% gained +4 points to earn 12%. Ben Carson lost -8 points and now sits at 14%.

Somebody pinch me and tell me I'm not dreaming.
Barbara will figure out what to do. Jebbie is awaiting instructions right now.
Doing the Happy Dance!
Trends are interesting, clearly Bush is done and the only person not accepting it is Bush himself, the more you see of him the less you like him. Carson is probably done as well yet he will need a couple of votes before the obviousness of the it is made manifest!
Obviously anyone under Bush is done and should just be ignored at this point, and should be left out of the debates. Bush should be in the debates only to remind us that we are done with the Bush family now add for ever more!
There really are only 4 left, Trump, Cruz, Rubio and Carson.
Carson is a brilliant man just not ready for the presidency, but would make a great addition to any republican administration.
This statement is an ABSOLUTE LIE. I saw yeb? on FOX last night and he said his poll numbers were improving and he was confident that he would win the nomination, and then the Presidency.
Yep, yeb? said it.
Jeb donors probably wishing they’d bought Enron stock instead.
That's because Trump, and Cruz to a lesser extent, are firing back at the media and exposing it for the clan of political hucksters it is. Traditional GOP candidates would have tucked their tail between their legs and slunk away.
‘Zactly
Thinking forward: I wonder if any of the media cheerleaders will start cheering for Donald when the possibility of his candidacy, and the possibility of his election, come into view. They are groveling flunkies, not speakers of truth to power.
If, and as, he continues to surmount the concerted propaganda attack, they lose credibility, and also eyeballs... which are $$$$. Money talks, bullshit follows.
Jeb 3%? Congratulations FReepers! You got the word out on this amnesty whore. Now do the same for Rubio.
Agree
Trump’s first ‘non apology’ on the illegal immigration issue, and Kate’s murder which happens shortly thereafter, created a new model for Republicans.
Fight them. Never apologize. Don’t give an inch. Go directly to the people like Reagan did.
This ABC/ CNN ‘we don’t know why he did it’ nonsense (go t their websites today) will further erode confidence.
The internet has blown open the lid on truth. The MSM once had a death grip on the narrative. Yes, there was talk radio, but that was about it.
Trump has also exposed Fox News as part of the corrupt political system. Same group of people running the show as puppet masters controlling both parties. Trump has shown that’s the case.
Cruz really is in a great position right now. He’s a conservative lifelong with governing experience. So he’s got the ‘outsider’ chops with the insider knowledge. Plus, his personal story (dad persecuted in Cuba) is compelling and he’s a great debater.
Cruz is my first choice, but I like Trump. Either is acceptable and Trump at least could fund his own campaign.
Donald Trump will be dropping out any day now to make way for Ted Cruz.
Actually, Cruz has been fighting the media and Republican establishment before Trump came on the scene. His book (A Time for Truth) written before Trump was a factor, outlines it clearly.
Nevertheless I am a big fan of Trump’s bold attack style. It is much needed and has put the media and Republicans into a much-deserved case of apoplexy.
Trump and Cruz are both giants in my book. They just have different approaches to the same end.
Whether you support Trump or Cruz, this is far better than any of us could have hoped for 6 months ago.
My theory is that the internet has eliminated the money-advantage in campaigning. Who cares about TV ads, except for the lowest of the Lofos?
Just as GOPe thinks Cruz would then drop out to make way for Rubio.
Looks like Rubio is getting the Bush support and Trump and Cruz are splitting the Carson support as he fades.
Trump is just too far ahead at this point. Its beginning to look a lot like Trump.
Pat Paulsen would have an almost equal chance of being elected if he were still alive.
“You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can only make a monkey out of the voters every four years!”
