.....”This (Cruz) promise of a house cleaning in the DHS bureaucracy, which he has the authority to carry out immediately as head of the Executive Branch, is an important signal about Cruz’s seriousness on the issue of deportation and rule of law.”.......

I do wish more people would look at Cruz more carefully on his positions against illegal immigration, and as much realize that although he’s running an election campaign he is still in the trenches in Washington fighting the good fight ......amazing stamina!

Here’s further video of Cruz nailing Saldana about the numbers she presented ....she simply can’t get her head around anything.....

Well put. My major problem with Trump is that his entire career has been about government/private partnerships that benefitted him financially. While that plan has worked wonderfully for him, it is the exact opposite of a plan to shrink the size and influence of the federal government. He will grow the government with at least as much vigor and speed as Obama and probably a good deal faster than even Hillary.

I don't think Trumps a bad guy, but this website used to be about conservatism and smaller government and reducing spending, but many here have thrown that dream away, for a guy who tosses out great zingers at leftist sacred cows. That's not enough for me. I'm clinging to the same goals I've had since I got here. Less government spending, less government debt, less government power, less government. Those things are nowhere on Trump's agenda nor his abilities.

It comes down to trust.

I trust Donald Trump. I do not trust Ted Cruz.

SP's run amuck on this thread.

SP = Site Pest.

If Trump is on the ticket, I'll vote third party. Under no circumstances will I vote for Trump.

The GOP elitists and the 'RAT Party thank you for your loyalty and throwing away your vote.

Yes, I believe all of Cruz supporters will vote Trump, there is no more staying home JUST BECAUSE of whatever they hate this time.

Not this one, nor my family. I will not vote for a liberal. ever.

How long has Trump been making "correct decisions" again?

I wasn't referring specifically to Trump. I was merely suggesting a principle -- that we choose our candidate not based on temperament but on decision making prowess. Trump has done enough right, made enough correct decisions, in his life to become quite successful.

As a matter of fact, my first choice is definitely Cruz. It always has been. But I would indeed support Trump if he received the nomination.

Maybe Cruz uses the kind of haughty, lofty politically correct niceties we are accustomed to hearing from our politicians while Trump just gives it to us straight and unfiltered. Note that Cruz is also talking about deporting people. In the past, many politicians have given us lip service but no action once elected.

Cruz has delivered action. Trump only delivers bluster. It's all he's got.

As for the media narrative bit -- from an earlier thread titled "Trump: Err on the side of security" (I don't know how to link threads, it's easy for you to find the thread yourself if you want to confirm) some Trump supporters indicated easy willingness to trust Trump's judgment in how heavy of force to use.

One person says: "Wouldn't you be safer if there was a policeman on every corner checking your papers?"

Trump supporter replies: I expect that with Trump when he's clearing out the Illegals...so I'm cool with it. I also don't blame him, I blame his PREDECESSORS (both parties) for requiring such drastic action.

SamAdams, what is that about?

One person says: "Or is the only thing you care about is that you think he will round up all of them darn illegals and dump them in the deserts of Mexico somewhere."

The Trump supporter responds: Pretty much sums it up .... If we do not get the illegals out, then the Democrats will quickly have TOTAL CONTROL of government and all you fear will come true -- except that it won't be for just a few years (as it would with Trump, followed by Cruz), your grandchildren will have to suffer under it. And ask anyone under Soviet control whether those guys will voluntarily dismantle a police state.

Just as this country had to do in WW2, I'm willing to sacrifice for a brighter future.

This guy thinks that if it was Trump (or Cruz), "those guys" would voluntarily dismantle a police state they created in order to oust illegals.

Sheer pure terror and panic with regard to illegal immigration. The proper solution is already at the ready (enforce existing laws), Ted Cruz articulates it calm and cool.

Trump's articulation, on the other hand inspires folks like the one writing above.

Just sayin'.

Yep. A businessman's job is to make whatever he oversees, grow and prosper. If you want bigger, more prosperous government oppression, vote for Trump. He loves America, ya know.

But then who really cares? The Trumpinator has very much bigger fish to fry.

... a guy who tosses out great zingers at leftist sacred cows ...

That about says it. He's a patriotic old blowhard self-promoted celebrity billionaire showman running for President.

*sigh*

Ted Cruz is a [relatively] young legal beagle whose life has revolved around the U.S. Constitution and law in one way or another since the mid '80s when he was a kid in high school. His political compass has consistently held toward limited government and the Constitution for about 25 years because he philosophically embraces the Constitution.

Ol' Dad Don, on the other hand, has switched political parties three times in the past 26 years.

Ted Cruz is what America needs.

And offer ZERO evidence of ever confronting the truth about the recipient of your trust.

It's called blind trust.

A bad thing to invest in a professional showman turned politician.
