Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) speaks with Tom Bevan and Carl Cannon on RealClearRadio, RCP's weekly radio show on Sirius XM's POTUS channel. The Republican presidential candidate has just returned from Iraq, where he and John McCain recieved updates on US policy in Syria. Graham talks about his distaste for Senator Ted Cruz,who he refers to as an "opportunist" who "is a libertarian when it is hot" and "has done more to allow ISIL to gain a foothold in Syria than any Senator other than Rand Paul."
"He was one of the loudest voices objecting to going after Assad when he crossed the 'red line,' and he objected to helping the Free Syrian Army," Graham said. "So he has no credibility in my eyes."
"He has voted to gut data mining systems" and "introduced legislation saying you couldn't hold people as enemy combatants indefinitely."

It must be easy (speech-wise) to be a liberal; you’d never have to worry about whether your words make sense... all you have to do is start spouting! All this conservative “trying to be logical/coherent/sane” stuff is really pretty slow and strenuous, by comparison... :)

Cruz linked Rubio to both Clinton-ite and outright neoconservative foreign policy, neither of which is popular on the grassroots right. “Senator Rubio emphatically supported Hillary Clinton in toppling [Muammar] Qaddafi in Libya. I think that made no sense,†Cruz said. “Qaddafi was a bad man, he had a horrible human rights record. And yet ... he had become a significant ally in fighting radical Islamic terrorism. The terrorist attack that occurred in Benghazi was a direct result of that massive foreign policy blunder. … If you look at President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and for that matter some of the more aggressive Washington neo-cons, they have consistently misperceived the threat of radical Islamic terrorism and have advocated military adventurism that has had the effect of benefiting radical Islamic terrorists.â€
