Nice camping setup with a tiny solar panel for electricity and what looks like a solar collector for heating something (water?) out front. Many other people from other places do the same in the area--tourists who own larger pieces of land. It's obviously not a cheap way to live. If you follow the link to the article, you'll find that he had a degree in public administration and probably was not poor. Other news said that he ate and drank at a cafe and saloon quite a bit, too.
