A Texas girl spoke out after her teacher alleged made her say "God is a myth," has experienced fallout for standing up for herself and her beliefs.
Twelve-year-old Jordan Wooley says she has been bullied and told to kill herself following media coverage of her story.
It started when Wooley's teacher assigned a quiz at Katy, Texas's West Memorial Junior High School asking students to label statements as "fact, assertion, or opinion."
Statements included "America is the most free country on Earth," and "there is a God." Jordan labeled the latter as "fact,' and her teacher told her to mark it otherwise, or face an "F" grade.
The Katy Independent School District claimed that it never happened and that Wooley's story could not be verified. But Wooley would not relent, calling the school board "liars," and demanding an apology in a statement on Monday.

It’s pretty simple, really. All children should be taught that when a teacher threatens them with an “F” they should say “Uhh, yeah, my parents are gonna need that in writing, including your signature and the very specific requirements I did not meet.”

I too received a poor grade in my sociology class in college because I routinely debunked the professors liberal agenda.
I countered his “America is inferior to Canada” crap with facts and the 18 year olds were amazed. It helped that I was originally a Canadian citizen. You could see the professor become visibly enraged.
When I was in public grade school in NJ in the 1940s, in home room we were REQUIRED to pick and read a psalm, say the Lords prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
“Find the bastards and string THEM up with some damn piano wire!”
I am not sure that statements like this enhance the image of Christianity or lessen the appeal of being non religious. That said, if true, the teacher’s behavior was outrageous. If the teacher insisted the answer was False, rather than Opinion, then she insulted about 5 billion believers of one flavor or another.
The conservative school board tried to change a lot and the bureaucrats didn't like it. For example, they tried to change the AP History curriculum back to a more traditional presentation of American History and were slapped down with sick outs and student walk outs. Something that the Unions are very good at since they strike every few years. This got a lot of press and painted the conservative school board as closed minded and unfair.
Bottom line: the Unions are pretty good at the misinformation game and with the local MSM in their hip pockets, the recall almost inevitable.

Using God as the subject of a “critical thinking” lesson for 7th graders, proves the teacher herself isn’t capable of such. It’s comparable to 7th graders attempting quantum theory math.
What a messed up education system our billions in tax dollars hath wrought.

I think the girl (or her parents) released her own name.
Apparently, what actually happened has been seriously misrepresented. The school has questioned other students in the class, none of whom agree with what the girl has charged. The test was not graded, and the school has removed the question from the test. Here is the link for additional information.

What on earth is your source for the teacher telling the girl to “kill herself” on line?
This story may be a serious misrepresentation of the facts. Apparently the quiz was never graded, and that question has been removed from the quiz if it is ever used again.
