After accidentally crossing the border into Mexico with guns in his vehicle, a highly decorated former Marine was detained with his children and later released. He had accidentally crossed the border with hunting rifles after taking a wrong turn in Texas.
Retired Marine First Sergeant Jeromie Slaughter, 38, decided to take his 14-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter on a hunting trip to a deer lease located near Rocksprings, Texas, according to Click2Houston.com. His family said he had not been to the lease before and made a wrong turn.
Rocksprings is located approximately 70 miles from the Texas/Mexico border at Del Rio.
Slaughterâs family said he ended up on a road that led to Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. âHe knew they were lost and when he seen the sign that said âno guns,â you know, no weapons, he knew that he had gone too far,â Slaughterâs mother Beverly McKinney, told the Houston TV station.

Let's see if he goes to bat for a decorated Marine.
Isn’t this the second time in recent years that a Marine got lost and brought firearms into Mexico?
The U.S. needs to hold three illegal alien Xenos hostage until the Mexicans let our people go, WITH THEIR GUNS! We shouldn’t have to put up with this crap from a bunch of morons. We’re America! This is embarrassing.
Oh, here we go again. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Illegal Alien Loving entity in the White House, yet again, does NOTHING for this marine & his family.
It says he was detained and released. But, you are right, that if he was not released, Obama would do nothing.
Better get a GPS device if you’re driving in the area.
Something’s not right here. You’ve got to be really, REALLY navigationally challenged to aim for Rock Springs and wind up in Mexico.
The moral of the story: avoid the cesspool known as Mehico.
I would wager that with a President Trump,Mexico would have escorted the hapless driver to the border with no questions asked.
A marine who finds himself 70 MILES off course?? Really?? Maybe he needs a refresher course in wilderness navigation.
That's my thought, too. Maybe he was drunk or blind or both.
As soon as President Trump takes office he needs to close all roads going INTO Mexico.
Evidently some people in this forum have problems with reading comprehension. First off, he was detained and then released. What exactly do you want Obama to do for him? Organize a homecoming?
Second, If someone crossed our borders with a bunch of guns, would you not expect them to be detained?
Third, if you’re dumb enough to accidentally drive into another country with a cache of weapons... well.... sorry, but I don’t have a whole lot of sympathy.
Sounds to me like this Marine needs to invest in a GPS.
2. Have you ever driven across the border into Mexico? It is where the term, cluster**** came from.
Seriously, the Mexicans are crystal clear about no guns or ammunition, not even a shell casing. It is a zero tolerance thing.
This guy must have been an utter moron to cross into Mexico from Rocksprings. Check out Google Maps. At one point he had to drive over an almost 1000 ft bridge over a reservoir, past lots of signs that he was approaching a border crossing.
1. Maybe they are. And if they are, I expect them to be detained. Don’t you?
That’s funny, the NCO’s are always saying it’s second lieutenants that get lost as soon as they pull out a compass and map.....

Typical guy, doesn’t turn around instead keeps driving!
“Rocksprings is located approximately 70 miles from the Texas/Mexico border at Del Rio.”
70 miles and one international border is one heck of a wrong turn.
