#75: Bobby Vinton: "Coming Home Soldier"
I told Bobby's story a few weeks ago. While in the Army, Bobby had served as a chaplain's assistant in Germany, a truly cushy assignment. With Lyndon Johnson's escalation in Vietnam, executed with all the sophistication of a steam calliope going full blast, Bobby decided to write songs about the lives of servicemen away from home. "My. Lonely" had been a major success, and now Bobby came up with another one.
