The country's military said it was following the same protocol it would have for any aircraft as officials insisted they did not know the nationality of the bomber jet.
The Turkish military said in a statement: "The nationality of the plane was not known... and the rules of engagement were automatically used."
It also said it tried to rescue the plane's pilots and invited Russian defence and military officials to its Ankara headquarters to explain the incident.
The Turkish army released a series of audio recordings of officials reportedly warning plane before it was shot down.
A voice in one of the recordings can be heard repeating: "This is Turkish Air Force speaking on guard. You are approaching Turkish airspace. Change your heading south immediately."
A Turkish official previously claimed the doomed jet ignored 10 warnings in five minutes to leave Turkish airspace.
It was shot down by F16 Fighting Falcon jets belonging to Turkey.

I see.
Well, your screen name is appropriate anyhow.
Have a nice Thanksgiving.
That was quite civil, I thought. Now, not so much . . . grow some skin, creampuff.
If you have evidence that the video is untrue then present in a rational arguement.
Apparently you don't.
All that you have done is insult someone that you have never spoken to before.

You are right that Putin won’t try to take on Turkey (NATO) militarily. He’ll use terrorism in a way that is difficult to connect back to Russia. Putin is as mean as ErdoÄan and Obama. I’m guessing he’ll use a dirty bomb or a terrorist attack on their favorite Mosque. Putin won’t let the Turkish attacks and their open support of Isis go unpunished.
Thank you.
I agree with your comments. Thanks for the correction on type of aircraft.
