Putin sends air defense missiles to Syria to deter Turkey
Yahoo News AP ^ | November 25, 2015 | VLADIMIR ISACHENKOV

Posted on 11/25/2015 5:55:53 AM PST by Navy Patriot

President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday ordered state-of-the art air defense missile systems to be deployed at a Russian air base in Syria following the downing of one of its warplanes by Turkey, a move that raised the threat of a military confrontation between the NATO member and Moscow.

The S-400 missile systems will be sent to the Hemeimeem air base in Syria's coastal province of Latakia, located about 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of the border with Turkey. The systems are capable of targeting Turkish jets with deadly precision. If Russia shot down a Turkish plane, NATO would be required to intervene.

Turkey shot down a Russian Su-24 bomber on Tuesday, saying it crossed into its airspace from Syria despite repeated warnings. One of its two pilots was killed by militants after bailing out, while his crewmate was rescued by Syrian army commandos and delivered in good condition to the Russian base early Wednesday.

Obama has been weak on ISIS because he wants to oust Assad, the way he ousted Gaddafi. Obama loves to create chaos in Middle Eastern countries.

Smoke and mirrors. Bottom line is Putin is on the verge of taking control of the resource rich Middle East. This in addition to their simultaneous attempt at retaking their former Soviet states. Obama and many around him were die-hard supporters of the Soviet Union. And KGB/FSB Putin, despite what you and the other Putinistas want people here to believe, is out to basically restore it.

"a recent investigation conducted by Novaya Gazeta, one of the few independent newspapers left in Russia, complicates this cozy tale of counterterrorist cooperation. Based on extensive fieldwork in one village in the North Caucasus, reporter Elena Milashina has concluded that the "Russian special services have controlled" the flow of jihadists into Syria, where they have lately joined up not only with ISIS but other radical Islamist factions.

In other words, Russian officials are adding to the ranks of terrorists which the Russian government has deemed a collective threat to the security and longevity of its dictatorial ally on the Mediterranean, Bashar al-Assad."

Czech Defense Minister: "Russia is Orchestrating Muslim Invasion of Europe"

Posted By: TRT NEWS October 31, 2015

Prague, Czech Republic - Russia is orchestrating, coordinating, and funding the ongoing invasion of European countries by Muslim, military-age males, the Czech Defense Minister shared with IDNES.cz on October 10th, 2015.

According to Martin Stropnicky, the Defense Minister for the Czech Republic, he was informed by the Hungarian Defense Minister Istvan Simicsko that Russia was financing the busing of military-age Islamic males across the borders of the Balkan nations.

-snip-

Speculation has been rife for some time now that Russian forces have been plotting a ground invasion to retake the former satellite states of the Soviet Union, and eventually capturing the European capitals.

The overwhelming of these nations' borders, social services, and law enforcement mechanisms would destabilize and weaken the internal security controls when Russian military units would make their move.

"The Russian Federation does not desire a unified and cohesive European Union," Stropnicky said in the interview. "I do not envision the current invasion ceasing anytime soon."

As the Russian Federation has modernized its military forces and transformed its military theory to a hybrid combination of special forces, infantry, and airpower, it has made impressive advances in its latest generation tank and fighter jet, both of which purportedly claim to be superior to American counterparts. ..."

Understanding Provocation [Provokatsiya]

March 29, 2014

One of the most powerful tools the Kremlin has in its secret arsenal of Special War is provocation, what they call provokatsiya.

While Moscow cannot claim to have invented this technique, which has existed as long as there have been secret services, there's no doubt that Russians have perfected the art and taken it to a whole new level of sophistication and deviousness. At times, it can become a strategy all on its own (not always, mind you, with edifying results).

Provokatsiya simply means taking control of your enemies in secret and encouraging them to do things that discredit them and help you. You plant your own agents provocateurs and flip legitimate activists [in this case, dupe actual Jihadis -ETL], turning them to your side.

When you're dealing with extremists to start with, getting them to do crazy, self-defeating things isn't often difficult. In some cases, you simply create extremists and terrorists where they don't exist. This is causing problems in order to solve them, and since the Tsarist period, Russian intelligence has been known to do just that.

While this isn't a particularly nice technique, it works surprisingly well, particularly if you don't care about bloody and messy consequences. ..."

Why are you still posting this nonsense blaming Russia for the alleged Yuschenko poisoning?

Even the incredibly biased article you post says: “Exactly who was behind the poisoning has never been officially determined. It’s been blamed on the Russian secret police, on Yanukovych’s supporters, even on Yushchenko himself, a publicity stunt to garner election support.”

And even that is an understatement.

No evidence has ever been produced that the Russian government had any involvement with this incident; in fact it appears the opposite is the case.

“In September 2009, Larysa Cherednichenko, former head of the department for supervision over investigations into criminal cases of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, said high-ranking officials from the presidential secretariat and family members of Yushchenko falsified evidence in his poisoning case, with dioxin being added to Yushchenko’s blood samples. Cherednichenko claims she was warned that she would be dismissed from her office immediately after she wrote her report on August 26, 2009 and said she was offered two positions, which she refused, and contested her dismissal in court.

Also in September 2009, a special commission, created by the Verkhovna Rada, came to a conclusion that the Yushchenko dioxin poisoning was falsified to strengthen his positions during 2004 presidential elections. The commission demanded to bring to justice those guilty in fabrication of blood tests. To date, no one has been identified. There were allegations US intelligence services injected blood samples taken from Yushchenko with dioxin to feign poisoning These allegations were dismissed by Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Yushchenko

Also:

“However, a new team of investigators assigned to the case after Yushchenko lost power to his long-term rival Viktor Yanukovych, alleged that the Yushchenko dioxin poisoning could have been falsified to strengthen his positions during 2004 presidential elections.

Investigators demanded that the ex-president give new blood tests, as traces of dioxin remain in blood forever.

Yushchenko, whose health has improved significantly since 2004, has refused to cooperate and said last year he wanted to “close that chapter” in his life.”
http://sputniknews.com/world/20120405/172637154.html

In other words, Yuschenko refuses to give blood samples that could at least determine whether he was poisoned by dioxin at all!
In any court in the world failure of a party to produce evidence within his control justifies an inference that the evidence, if produced, would be unfavorable to that party’s position.

But here’s the capper: In 2008, while Yuschenko was still President, US Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper, reported:

“President Viktor Yushchenko on Thursday accused the godfather of one of his children and member of his own political party of involvement in his near-fatal poisoning, a stunning twist to one of post-Soviet Ukraine’s most notorious scandals.

Yushchenko did not provide evidence for his claim that David Zhvania participated in giving him a massive dose of dioxin that sickened him and left his face badly scarred.

. . .

This summer, Zhvania angered Yushchenko by claiming that the president suffered only from food poisoning and accusing his staff of inventing a politically motivated attack to boost his popularity during the closely fought presidential campaign.

Asked Thursday at a news conference whether he thought Zhvania took part in the poisoning, Yushchenko answered: “I think yes, to put it mildly.”

Zhvania countered that Yushchenko’s poisoning has yet to be proved.

He dismissed Yushchenko’s statement as “absolutely ill-considered and irresponsible” and said it shows his disregard for the rule of law.

“Such actions of V. Yushchenko don’t disgrace him personally as much as they humiliate Ukraine in front of the international community,” Zhvania said in a statement.
http://blog.cleveland.com/pdextra/2008/07/ukraine_president_blames_forme.html

In other words, Yuschenko close political and personal ally says Yuschenko was not “dioxin poisoned,” and Yuschenko then accuses the son in law himself [not the Russians] of being behind the poisoning!

Beyond that, you don’t tell us that Yuschenko awarded the title Hero of Ukraine to the Nazis collaborator mass murderer Stepan Bandera and has praised his barbarous Ukrainian Insurgent Army, ally of Hitler

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Yushchenko

Also, per the same article:

“Also in September 2005, former president Leonid Kravchuk accused exiled Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky of financing Yushchenko’s presidential election campaign, and provided copies of documents showing money transfers from companies he said were controlled by Berezovsky to companies controlled by Yushchenko’s official backers. Berezovsky confirmed that he met Yushchenko’s representatives in London before the election, and that the money was transferred from his companies, but he refused to confirm or deny that the money was used in Yushchenko’s campaign. Financing of election campaigns by foreign citizens is illegal in Ukraine.”

He was such a pathetic president he got barely 5% of the vote in running for re-election.

Some “Hero”!

“The US military is developing software that will let it secretly manipulate social media sites by using fake online personas to influence internet conversations and spread pro-American propaganda.

“A Californian corporation has been awarded a contract with United States Central Command (Centcom), which oversees US armed operations in the Middle East and Central Asia, to develop what is described as an “online persona management service” that will allow one US serviceman or woman to control up to 10 separate identities based all over the world.” . . .

“Once developed, the software could allow US service personnel, working around the clock in one location, to respond to emerging online conversations with any number of co-ordinated messages, blogposts, chatroom posts and other interventions. Details of the contract suggest this location would be MacDill air force base near Tampa, Florida, home of US Special Operations Command.”

British Army To Create 1500-Strong Social Media Propaganda Force

from the Facebook-warriors dept

There’s a small but growing club of countries that have created various kinds of groups to produce social media propaganda. Alongside Turkey, China and Israel, we can now add the UK to that list, as the Guardian reports:
The British army is creating a special force of Facebook warriors, skilled in psychological operations and use of social media to engage in unconventional warfare in the information age.

From 2012: Syria shoots down Turkish plane

"Turkey's prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has threatened Syria with retaliation for shooting down a military jet, and warned that Turkish armed forces will respond to any Syrian encroachment on the border.

Nato secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the alliance stands by Turkey but is not considering a military response."

Because Syria shot down a Turkish plane that was in the airspace for a few seconds back in 2012. The words uttered by Turkey back then could be applied to Russia today.

There is also the example of Litvinenko.

Did you read the article cited? Excerpt:

“The Centcom contract stipulates that each fake online persona must have a convincing background, history and supporting details, and that up to 50 US-based controllers should be abl’ to operate false identities from their workstations “without fear of being discovered by sophisticated adversaries’.”

Further, the Buzzfeed article submitted by the original poster states:

“Definitively proving the authenticity of the documents and their authors’ ties to the Kremlin is, by the nature of the subject, not easy. The project’s cost, scale, and awkward implementation have led many observers in Russia to doubt, however, that it could have come about in any other way.”

Assuming that these private companies are financing pro-Russian troll comments, against that we have evidence of official USG and British government financing of pro-Western trolling.

The Israel government pays hundreds of college students to do pro-Israel trolling. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/students-offered-grants-if-they-tweet-pro-israeli-propaganda-8760142.html

My question to you is this: do you find propaganda “trolling” deserving of censure when it is carried out by Western governments and Israel, or only when it is done on behalf of Russia?
