and whose idea was it EVER to bring Turkey into nato? Were they THAT secular at the time?
To keep it symmetrical, Putin might decide to give some anti-aircraft missiles to Syria, or even some cruise missiles, and have Syria (Assad) take out a Turkish plane and/or a missile battery on the Turkish side. Then he can keep Russia out of it to the same extent that Obama kept the US out of it. Putin will want to do something like that.
