Columbus, Ohio (CNN)Donald Trump said Monday that he witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers on 9/11 from the view in his apartment.
"Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
"And I watched those people jump and I watched the second plane hit ... I saw the second plane hit the building and I said, 'Wow that's unbelievable,'" Trump continued.
At least 200 people are believed to have jumped from the Twin Towers after planes struck the towers in an attack that claimed more than 2,600 lives.
The Republican presidential contender lives in Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, more than four miles away from where the World Trade Center towers once stood. Trump has lived in the 5th Avenue tower since before the attacks, according to media reports pre-dating 9/11.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment asking how Trump witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers from more than four miles away.
Trump on Monday also dug into his claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the terrorist attacks on 9/11, a claim that has been widely debunked by multiple fact-checkers.

I'm trying to figure out how to vote more than once like the Democrats. What's up? Did he say something after that? If he promises to carpet bomb Raqqa with concrete infused illegals, I'll put on a uniform with a T on it.
Check out the tabloids on that one. !
Binoculars!
4 miles, 7 miles. Probably closer to 4 miles as the crow flies (or pigeon as this is NYC). Jump in a taxi though and you are going to get charged for 7. Either way, Trump had a birds-eye view from his vantage point atop the Trump Tower.
IF he saw people jumping - with or without binoculars - how is that embroidering? Why and to whom need he explain?
These attacks are getting pettier than a pack of Middle School girls.
Earth’s curvature does not matter at Trumps elevation relative to distance to WTC.
Yep. I have a pair of 10X50 Nikon binoculars (you can also get 12X50) and they really bring things in close and the are crystal clear. Bought them on Amazon at a really decent price. Check them out if you are looking for a decent pair of binos
From above 30 feet, most falls are instantly fatal...............
If you had a south-facing window in a tall-enough building in midtown, you’d have had no problem seeing the World Trade Center towers. One of my first jobs in New York was at 39th between 5th and 6th (probably less than a mile south of Trump Tower). We had an excellent view of the towers from the 18th floor. They seemed very lalarge from 39th St. If I had worked there on 9/11, I think I might have been able to tell human beings from falling debris without binoculars. Falling debris doesn’t have arms and legs waving around.
This is NOT "embroidering" anything at all!
He has spectacular views from his home and perhaps he even *gasp* has binoculars and/or a telescope, which he trained on the WTC...of which he had a clear view of, at home!
So WHO are you REALLY supporting, that you need to take Trump down for?
‘’And he can see Russia from his house!’’
WTF? Is that you, Tina Fey?
We all saw people jumping. The entire world did as well.
You first.
I believe every word you’ve written to me.
You have NO reason at all to lie.
Neither does Mr. Trump.
MSM and the GOPe can all GTH.
God bless and keep you. God rest the souls of those poor people lost that day.
God “damn” ALL the evil bastards who celebrated.
‘’I would guess that Trump saw and heard the explosions and had multiple TVâs on and people from all over the city reporting to him to keep him instantly updated.’’
And considering what the Trump brand portrays to the world, i.e., economic success, I can imagine him considering the possibility that his real estate, including his home, could be a target. I’d be glued to my telescope if I were him.
Check my posting history. I truly don’t have a candidate yet. Guess that means you’re right: I’m not helping my case, because I don’t have one.
I am pretty critical of some, or most, candidates and wish several others would drop out. Any candidate for President should be able to survive scrutiny and criticism. It won’t get any easier from here, including after the election.
I just want a highly competent and loyal American to win the White House next year, and come spring I’ll choose the candidate that gives us the best chance.
THANKS SO MUCH!
Mark Styne is thee best!
That Washington Post SUX!
I enjoy “numbers” too.
Always have.
I clipped the newspaper article about her birthdate and thought I put it in her baby book.
In fact, I’m sure I did, but someone (likely her jealous sister) has removed it but I will locate it. I can’t recall when the next odd date will occur. I think it’s sometime in 3,111. but not sure....
Hi neighbor, I worked on the 17th floor at Two Penn Plaza - probably saw you on the taxi line...
