Donald Trump has re-established his commanding lead of the Republican presidential race in a new Washington Post/ABC News poll.
If anything, the poll shows that Trump's surge seems to be strong and possibly getting stronger. As the Post points out, the poll comes after a "tumultuous period that has included terrorist attacks in Paris, calls for stepped-up efforts to combat Islamic State militants, a backlash against accepting refugees from Syria, and two Republican debates..."
Trump leads the field with 32 percent support among registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents. Running second is retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 22 percent. Both figures are identical to last month.

This poll seems to be an outlier. It has a much lower level of support for Sen. Cruz than most of the other recent national polls. Look at the Fox news poll released just a few hours later and you will see a radically different picture with Sen. Cruz at 14% instead of the 8% in this poll.
Trump will lock this up with a âsurpriseâ win in Iowa. After which the pieces fall into place.
If Cruz finishes in second in Iowa he will catapult to prominence and the dynamics of the race will change. Donât forget that Walker held a commanding lead at one time.

Thank you!
For the same reason Barry has been named as the Firearms salesman of the year. Every year since 2008.
Thanks, Liz. I think you identified a coming “Pew War”. lol.
With all the Cruz promos and ads and the media covering his movement, I had been unable to find an Iowa poll ANYWHERE.
Very nice to see continuing triumph, in the face of the coming TRUMP CARD, LLC, full of clandestine donors from both parties and the Wall Street globalists, Soros and Clinton Foundation, who can all secretly fund it.
