Why Breitbart Website Is Fundraising For Ted Cruz…
The Conservative Tree House ^ | Nov 22, 2015 | Sundance

Posted on 11/22/2015 4:21:52 AM PST by free_life

This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret.

Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead.

The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew.

The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica.

Cambridge Analytica is the receiver of the contact information provided to Breitbart when you participate in their on-line Presidential Poll.

In essence, when you participate the Breitbart poll, you are sending your personal information into a data-base controlled by the proprietary interests of Robert Mercer, Cambridge Analytica. The Ted Cruz campaign then uses the data collected to fund-raise on behalf of the Campaign.

Perhaps I'm the last person to discover that Breitbart is essentially a political operation of the Cruz campaign, but this is akin to realizing the Clinton Global Initiative is the financial underwriter for the New York Times.

While all the dots have never been fully assembled, the facts around relationship have been discussed in various articles, yet never connected:

~ Politico outlines the Robert Mercer financial underwriting/ownership of Breitbart HERE

~ Christian Science Monitor article showing how much Mercer is invested in Ted Cruz HERE The New York Times goes into greater detail HERE

~ Politico July article outlining Robert Mercer's financial underwriting of Cambridge Analytica to collect: "psychographic" analyses of voters to try to win them over with narrowly targeted micro-messages" HERE

~ FEC distribution showing Ted Cruz Leadership PAC - Pre-Presidential Bid – Paying Cambridge Analytica HERE

It would appear the entire reason for Breitbart.Com to put their Presidential Preference Poll together was to gather information on visitors for later distribution to the Ted Cruz campaign, with the expressed intention of micro-targeting those participating visitors.

Knowing all of this, it certainly makes sense now why so many people have noted that Breitbart goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid any critical mentions of their candidate, Ted Cruz.

After all, this unique and unconventional relationship means Breitbart Media has a vested financial interest in Ted Cruz's candidacy, and a profound conflict of interest for any political editorial surrounding the ongoing 2016 Presidential Primary.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and now you know ...

Cruz’s dad has a goofy and weird history. He claims he was ordained by some random church, went to a Bible college that doesn’t exist, and is a Pastor who doesn’t actually have a church. Although he is brought before Dominionist audiences and tells the congregation that Rev 5:10 teaches that Christians are divided into Kings and Priests, and the kings go out and conquer the financial world and brings the money back to the priests (the pastors).

Couple good points you made....now the replies: as to “some evidence” that Conservative Nuthouse is a function of one campaign...yes I do. Some evidence, though I do not have proof nor do I know for sure. But the evidence? A: almost every article is about one candidate. B: Surely the naivete of how email blast marketing works is a sham...they can’t be that dumb and C: no about tab, no history, just an out of the blue website that is about 98% pro one candidate and D: any website called conservative anything that attacks Cruz while praising the more liberal candidate is just a fraud. ALL of those would fall under SOME EVIDENCE - while admittedly, it is NOT proof.

Now to the money buying off media sources: of course it might. Then again, Breitbart has been very much philosophically aligned with Cruz for many years....long before he was running for President. They are very aligned, although in some varying degrees, with Cruz, Trump, Carson, Huckabee philosophically. This is who they are.

AND THERE IS THIS: Cruz would email blast through Breitbart NOT to sway Breitbart, but because of who/what Breitbart and their audience IS. This is the same reason you’d advertise on Rush and Levin. Not to sway the source, but to tap into a source that is already simpatico with you.

Besides, the point of the article is that this was nefarious and only available to Cruz. That’s just total bull. It’s not true. It’s not honest. It’s not smart.

I’ll stick with Mark Levin and Conservative review.

Mark Levin and CR are clowns too. Levin will never tell you that Cruz still leaves mass legalization for illegals on the table, or that Cruz did support granting legalization, not just in 2013 during the gang of eight fight, but also after that. Why would anyone be ashamed to tell the truth? Because they're corrupt.

Levin has his own biases too, and there is probably a good reason why Savage describes him as a lowlife fraud.

The article may be dead on, but I have heard the Breitbart radio people (Sirius) strongly defend Carson in the last two weeks.

I would bet a pretty decent amount of cash that this site is a front for a particular campaign. I outlined the reasons in another post.....

I've been following CTH for more than a year, especially during the George Zimmerman fiasco, and it's even been referenced on Rush Limbaugh's program in the past. So, in other words, you don't actually have any evidence, you don't actually know anything about how long that blog has been around, and the only thing you do know is that you do not like it's reporting about Ted Cruz's Hedge Fund guy financially backing Breitbart, and Breitbart, in turn, selling your data to Ted Cruz owned advertising agencies.

Now to the money buying off media sources: of course it might.

And therein lies the rub. Can we trust Breitbart to report accurately about Ted Cruz? No, not really.

Cruz has no control over his PAC.

Usually its the other way around and the PAC controls the candidate...but the notion that the two entities don't coordinate despite the FEC restrictions is risible.

LOL I saw some idiots on twitter the other day complaining that Hannity had Cruz on twice in one week (2 part interview) and St Donald was only on twice in the same week.

You do mean the Kardashian who is advocating that ordinary Americans bear arms to increase the security of the United States during these times of terrorism?

That Kardashian?

If only even one other Kardashian would advocate such a position.

Just one.

Yet, Breitbart is decent to all the candidates. Well, I don’t think they like Bush or Rubio...

Psychographics is the study of personality, values, opinions, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles.

[1] Because this area of research focuses on interests, attitudes, and opinions, psychographic factors are also called IAO variables. Psychographic studies of individuals or communities can be valuable in the fields of marketing,

[2] demographics, opinion research, futuring, and social research in general. They can be contrasted with demographic variables (such as age and gender), behavioral variables (such as usage rate or loyalty), and organizational demographics variables (sometimes called firmographic variables), such as industry, number of employees, and functional area.

Psychographics is often confused with demographics, where historical generations may be defined both by demographics, such as the years in which a particular generation is born or even the fertility rates of that generation’s parents, but also by psychographic variables like attitudes, personality formation, and cultural touchstones.

For example, the traditional approaches to defining the Baby Boom Generation or Generation X or Millennials have relied on both demographic variables (classifying individuals based on birth years) and psychographic variables (such as beliefs, attitudes, values and behaviors).

When a relatively complete profile of a person or group’s psychographic make-up is constructed, this is called a “psychographic profile”. Psychographic profiles are used in market segmentation as well as in advertising. Some categories of psychographic factors used in market segmentation include:

activity, interest, opinion (AIOs)
attitudes
values
behavior

Psychographics can also be seen as an equivalent of the concept of “culture” when it is used for segmentation at a national level.

You honestly think Cruz has any control over his PAC’s fundraising techniques?

This story should be about stealth fundraising techniques used by PACs. Not about Cruz.

I agree. I started this election cycle very pro Cruz but the TPA debacle and the many daily emails/calls cooled down my enthusiasm to a let’s wait and see attitude. His campaign style is a real turn off.

No, I think all Presidential campaigns coordinate their efforts with the PACs supporting them... and Cruz is no exception.

If you want to dismiss Breitbart in favor of Conservative Nuthouse, go ahead. If you think Trump hasn’t gotten the most and most favorable coverage of any candidate at Breitbart, you’re in denial. If you think Breitbart’s main interest is in long term viability and not a single election, then you don’t know anything about web monetization.

For what it’s worth and off topic. Yesterday I was searching for an article to back up a statement I had heard/read that Cruz had made.

I clicked on an article with a 2013 date and when it opened it had one paragraph then 11/15/2015 Update and Cruz’s current position/statement. I have never run into that before and I thought it was totally weird.

I do a lot of searching for historical information and it has become almost impossible to find on Ted Cruz. Okay, time for the guys in the white suits to come and get me :)
