This is apparently one of those things that is an open, and yet non-discussed, secret.
Several people have queried why they would be getting Ted Cruz campaign donation requests/solicitation directly from Breitbart, and/or getting donation requests from Ted Cruz on Breitbart letterhead.
The answer is simple, yet perhaps like me you never knew.
The Breitbart Media Group is financially backed and funded by Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer. Mercer was/is the originating financial backer for the Ted Cruz "Keep the Promise" (KtP 1, KtP2 and KtP3) Super-PACs. Mercer is also the financial backing behind Cambridge Analytica.
Cambridge Analytica is the receiver of the contact information provided to Breitbart when you participate in their on-line Presidential Poll.
In essence, when you participate the Breitbart poll, you are sending your personal information into a data-base controlled by the proprietary interests of Robert Mercer, Cambridge Analytica. The Ted Cruz campaign then uses the data collected to fund-raise on behalf of the Campaign.
Perhaps I'm the last person to discover that Breitbart is essentially a political operation of the Cruz campaign, but this is akin to realizing the Clinton Global Initiative is the financial underwriter for the New York Times.
While all the dots have never been fully assembled, the facts around relationship have been discussed in various articles, yet never connected:
~ Politico outlines the Robert Mercer financial underwriting/ownership of Breitbart HERE
~ Christian Science Monitor article showing how much Mercer is invested in Ted Cruz HERE The New York Times goes into greater detail HERE
~ Politico July article outlining Robert Mercer's financial underwriting of Cambridge Analytica to collect: "psychographic" analyses of voters to try to win them over with narrowly targeted micro-messages" HERE
~ FEC distribution showing Ted Cruz Leadership PAC - Pre-Presidential Bid â Paying Cambridge Analytica HERE
It would appear the entire reason for Breitbart.Com to put their Presidential Preference Poll together was to gather information on visitors for later distribution to the Ted Cruz campaign, with the expressed intention of micro-targeting those participating visitors.
Knowing all of this, it certainly makes sense now why so many people have noted that Breitbart goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid any critical mentions of their candidate, Ted Cruz.
After all, this unique and unconventional relationship means Breitbart Media has a vested financial interest in Ted Cruz's candidacy, and a profound conflict of interest for any political editorial surrounding the ongoing 2016 Presidential Primary.
Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and now you know ...
+1
I have a ‘hunch’ you’re right.
‘The hell is Breitbart doing publishing [people] like you?’
I stopped reading Americanthinker bc of this person. I used to read the site daily. When they started publishing him, and when I got a first hand look at how childish and mindlessly rude his posts are, I quit AT, and never went back.
Like the one they just posted from Politico saying Trump wants all Muslims in a database? Funny, I heard what Trump said, and it wasn't what is stated in the Politico/Breitbart story.
I love Breitbart and I love Cruz, but this is one of the reasons I don't seek large donors or corporate or PACs donations and I avoid all entangling affiliations and commercial funding opportunities.
The Free Republic Media Group (LOL) is financially backed and funded by you our loyal readers and participants!
No outside funding, no outside influences. It's just you and me, baby, and GOD against the tyranst and enemies of freedom in the world.
(see tagline)
Maybe Breitbart likes actual conservatives running for President instead of people who just say they are and expect us to believe it.
Welcome to politics.
Cruz is a good man. And so is Trump! Not so the dhimmis or GOPe RINO political hacks.
Welcome to freedom.
Well Said!!

oops, damned typos.
Jim this needs a thread of its own. Best argument for being independently financed. You and Donald Trump. Two Americans who love the country and understand what our founders fought for! Bless you
Truth be told, Jim, those are the best words I've heard all day. Happy Sunday to you.
Amen to that!
Pretty much how I see it....after all ‘someone’ has to “own” these sites. It’s up to us to determine where they stand politically and usually that’s not hard at all to figure.
That describes Edmund very accurately. And he has written lots of negative stuff on Trump here at FR, another pants on fire moment for him. A blowhart who writes stuff he makes up and calls it fact.
Yeah, I don’t get what the big deal is......I’m for Cruz because he IS a True Conservative....money matters in a campaign regardless of where it comes from. There’s no way they could compete without funding given the guys like Romney etc. who have their own resources to draw from....or Trump. But on the whole there’s no point running if the funding isn’t there.
And that’s why FR is the best source for facts and can be trusted.
Trump often times mirrors Cruz.....noted when he first began his rally’s....if one has followed Cruz BEFORE he announced you could tell Trump mirrored him. Cruz has been in the ditches fighting so he knows what’s what in Washington....and he’s an amazing wise man. Trump recognized this and as he often says...he makes it a point to know those who can get things done and the smartest he can find.
As for HI-B......if you followed the discussions and how Congress was operating regarding it then you understand the “moves” Cruz has taken
