Now the truth emerges: how the US fuelled the rise of Isis in Syria and Iraq
Guardian ^ | June 3 2015 | Seumas Milne

The war on terror, that campaign without end launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions. On Monday the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting.

The prosecution abandoned the case, apparently to avoid embarrassing the intelligence services. The defence argued that going ahead with the trial would have been an “affront to justice” when there was plenty of evidence the British state was itself providing “extensive support” to the armed Syrian opposition.

Terrorism has come about in assimilationist France and also in multicultural Britain. Why is that?

That didn’t only include the “non-lethal assistance” boasted of by the government (including body armour and military vehicles), but training, logistical support and the secret supply of “arms on a massive scale”. Reports were cited that MI6 had cooperated with the CIA on a “rat line” of arms transfers from Libyan stockpiles to the Syrian rebels in 2012 after the fall of the Gaddafi regime.

Naturally, to the Guardian, it would have been seen as not worth mentioning that George Bush has not been President since January 2009 and that in 2012 the President of the United States was the much heralded Nobel Peace Prize awardee, Barack Hussein Obama. After all, why blame a fellow traveler for something he did when you can blame a counter-revolutionary just as easily.

>i?Why do so many freepers feel the overwhelming need to stand up for George Bush? If he’s so great, want aren’t you supporting his brother for president now?

Most people are smart enough to understand they are two different people. Most..

You still are contradicting your claim that there was “peace” in Iraq under Bush.

The “flypaper” justification for spending (or rather, borrowing) $1 trillion and losing 4500 American lives,to turn Iraq over to the Shiites (and make it an ally of Iran) is insanity. Most Americans recognize Bush’s Iraq War was a disaster. That’s a big reason his nobody is supporting his brother for president. And why Trump is leading - after he calls the Iraq invasion a disastrous idea. If Americans agree on nothing else, they seem to agree on “no more Bushes”

BS... GW Bush was continuing the NWO progression of his Father and Clinton. Hardly a conservative, more of a liar.

Proof - Biden

“I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government,” said Biden.

“I spent — I've been there 17 times now. I go about every two months — three months. I know every one of the major players in all of the segments of that society. It's impressed me. I've been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.”

Well you probably hate Donald Trump because his brother is an alcoholic who drank himself to death, so by your stupid logic, it must mean Donald Trump is an alcoholic who is drinking himself to death and clearly shouldn’t be trusted.

Trump isn’t a drinker like his brother. Trump doesn’t defend his brothers way of life

In contrast, the Bush brothers are both big-govt open border politicians. And Jeb supports his brothers policies - meaning we’ll get more of them from him

Insanity is allowing the Muslim Terrorists to go on the offensive and attack us on home turf. 9/11 cost us almost 3,000 lives in one morning. The NYMEX was closed for about 1 week. The Pentagon partially destroyed. Air traffic completely halted for how many days? The US economy came to an almost complete stop. How many hundreds of billions did we lose in one morning? Crap, you are talking about years of war In Iraq that cost (tragically) 4,600 lives. Most “smart” Americans get that. But you don't which makes you what?

And those are the facts, Jack.

... which is why we’re getting all the tales implying Hillary was rogue and Obama knew nothing and therefore cannot be held accountable for anything he had her do.

Bush didn’t allow jihadis to run wild; he created the world’s biggest roach motel in which they could be drawn to and slaughtered over there, like vermin.

The screwup was when Jugears began announcing intentions to pull out during his campaign and finally doing it at the worst possible time.

Now that prices have receded (I just fueled low octane priced $1.74 per gallon) we can go back to dropping the extra L.

I'm not looking forwards to when it goes back to being spelled $fuelled$, with those extry s'es on a stick...

‘Bush started the policy; Obama continued it.’

Actually I think Carter started that policy when he supported the overthrow of the Shah of Iran.
