Louisiana voters have to throw tantrums and revert back to Huey Long populism every so often. It’s in the state’s genetic code or something.

It kind of like your dog that has to wallow in dead animal carcasses, and then comes back home stinking and expecting you to bathe him.

The Deadhead Caucus (teacher’s union, court house crowd, state employees) were highly motivated for Edwards. They think he’ll be able to fully fund their gold-plated retirements and medical benefits.

It’s crazy with LA going back and forth between reformists and corrupt business-as-usual types over the decades and reformists can’t get two Governors in a row at all.

1971; 1975 - Edwards (Corrupt)
1979 - Treen (Reform)
1983 - Edwards (Corrupt)
1987 - Roemer (Reform)
1991 - Edwards (Corrupt)
1995; 1999 - Foster (Reform)
2003 - Blanco (Corrupt)
2007; 2011 - Jindal (Reform)
2015 - Edwards (Corrupt)

The big dummies got their corrupt phony Guv, but didn’t know how to get like-minded crooks downballot. I hope the new Attorney-General Landry gets about as far up Johnny Bel’s ass so that he can scratch his tonsils. He’s going to be the next Governor and clean out the mess Edwards is about to make.
