Your neighboring State motto is :" Live FREE ,.. or die ". My fishing buddy says he has put up 6 cord of wood for winter (not the 'wimpy' face cords), and has oil backup for when he isn't home,
and lives out of his productive garden in the summer, winter , and early spring. First, he had to battle the wild critters, and then drought, and then the harvest .
The last time I was there, after visiting his garden briefly, my son found next morning 4 ticks on me (Lyme disease). I think they help make NE folks hardier.
It seems that the New England folks are resolute in independence, and sometimes awkward stubborness - thank goodness !
Hang in there , straight shooter !
I’ve told this story here before, but not for a while.
My son-in-laws father, who is an extreme leftist about 85 years old, lives in a house fairly near ours. His wife complained that the squirrels were eating out of her bird feeder. So, he sat on the porch all afternoon with a shotgun and shot every squirrel that appeared. He nailed 18 of them.
Needless to say, they also heat the house with a wood stove.
