"If we put in place a strong E-Verify system and deport criminal illegal aliens, the number of people here illegally will drop significantly, particularly if there's not a continual flow of people coming in illegally," Cruz said.
"At that point, once we've demonstrated that we can solve the problem, then we can have a conversation about what to do about whatever people remain illegally," Cruz added. When asked if that conversation included the potential for a pathway to legal status, he repeated, "We can have that conversation with the American people once we secure the border."

Oh boy, let’s see how many zero content articles journalists can crank out telling us what people haven’t ruled out
Trump is the only one to trust on immigration. Cruz is bought and paid for by the club for growth and his donors. Only Trump is independent of the influence of special interest and lobbyists.

GMTA!!! Lol.
Well I ruled out Ted Cruz...
I like the Ike method.
Cut-off all welfare and Threaten to place the iron boot on their necks, and the Americans who employ them and they will make a run for the border (sorry, Taco Bell) before a wall can even get started.
They will self-deport
Trump is the only one I trust on immigration, as well as the other issues.
He’s the only NOT owned. He’s the FIRST to say the word “DEPORT”.
He’s the historic GOP frontrunner who has the support of the majority of those who will be voting R (including many crossover Dems!)
shhhh Check Post #7 ROFL
Not liberal but GOPe...
Here’s the Time article. http://time.com/4123317/ted-cruz-immigration-reform-amnesty/
IF, this is true, it’s not good.
Cruz won’t rule out legalization for illegals because as far as I know he has always held that position. He tries to parse that and say he’s not for amnesty but essentially unless you are going to deport them all you will end up with amnesty.
Would like to see the issue expanded beyond illegals. Almost all third world immigration is bad: legal, illegal or "refugee". We are importing failed cultures who bring garbage like gang banging and Islam as luggage.
If you read Cruz’s immigration plan, you’ll see that the incentives to stay will have been eliminated. He’s not saying he’s going to legalize them, just that he wants the American people to weigh in on the decision. I don’t see any difference between this and Trump’s giving the “good ones” an expedited re entry.
There is a strong E-Verify system in place but it’s up to the individual states to mandate it’s use. It’s interesting that neither Texas or California require employers to E-Verify.
Cruz understands how the world works. The US is a huge country that can’t turn around on a dime. You have to start heading in the right direction, and then gradually things start to happen. Turning in the leftward direction, they call it the ‘slippery slope’.
This is how political support and movements build. You do the most obvious and beneficial thing first. Everybody likes it. So then you say, OK, what shall we do next?
UNTRUE.
Sure he would "expedite" the "good" ones back into the country.
That's a touchback legalization amnesty for all but the criminals.
