"It's traumatizing to sit in Core classes," Aya said. "We are looking at history through the lens of these powerful, white men. I have no power or agency as a black woman, so where do I fit in?"
Aya mentioned that even in her most recent Art Humanities class, the word "primitive" was used five times to describe Congolese artâa label she did not speak up against because she was tired of already having worked that day to address so many other instances of racism and discrimination, she said.

What do you get if you take white men out of American history books?

My ex-wife is an immigrant who became a lawyer. She speaks to immigrant groups and tells them to learn how to think like white men because that is how business works.
If these idiots were smart, they would spend less time condemning whites and more time figuring out why mainstream American culture worked for so long.

Keep walking around with your "Offended" switch spring loaded in the On position, missy, you'll have a great life to look back on some day and say "WTF?"
Hint: You'll still be blaming others for your problems.

"It's traumatizing to sit in Core classes," Aya said.If even sitting in class and hearing unpleasant facts (or disortions of facts) from the past, is traumatizing, young Aya is in for a rough life adulthood.
Time to grow up, sweetie pie.

If Columbia is such a vile, racist place then transfer to Spellman or Howard.

Immeasurably better than the Piss Christ art work. Actually the mask has some appeal as art. However, compared to the Sistine Chapel, it’s primitive.

I think they’re pushing the envelope to see how far “whitey” will go and there are enough of them that are so stupid that they’d fall for it. I’m sick of this crap!!!!

If “primitive” bothered her, perhaps we should try “art” created by stone-age savages. Perhapos we shouldn’t call European cave drawings “primitive art”.

“Racism” wasn’t a problem until we elected a big eared community organizer Marxist punk as our president.

She is correct, and so is the history she is learning. The bulk of history was made by white men. There are no prominent black women and very few prominent black men studied in history because they have done very little that is noteworthy so far. This woman could try to change that, but I'm sure she would rather bitch and moan that she is oppressed somehow.

Well, bless your little pea-peakin heart, dear! I have a closet that I have converted into a 'safe zone' for you. It is dark and quiet so that you can calm your rattled nerves until you can take the tests yet again. Someday you may even pass them and then you can have something to eat and drink. Remember, you are the one who can 'liberate' yourself!
