A little torn on this one. I mean how many times here on FR have we lamented the militarization of the police? Yet here it is being de-escalated...by the wrong person, for most likely the wrong reasons. Wonder if major blue cities are having this happen to them, or if it’s only in rural red counties.

As most FReepers, I didn't want the police agencies to get all this equipment in the first place. However...

This is not the president to fix it.

This guy has nobody's civil rights in mind. He's just being a prick.

With the Black Lies Matter movement, the police may need more advanced equipment before it's done.

We've been talking a civil war, thinking it would come from the Right. Well guess what folks, it isn't. We're seeing a student uprising that could threaten our government if we're not careful.

Obola won't call out the national guard. He'd let them take over Washington, D. C. if they wanted. Wait till they figure that one out.

Why would a sheriffs department in northeast Alabama in a county with a population of 118,000 stick their taxpayers with a bill for maintaining a tracked APC?

A few years back, in semi rural Connecticut, some of the local towns formed a SWAT team, complete with one of these vehicles. Now, the towns are paying millions to settle a case where a raid went wrong, and some guy was executed, because a stripper saw some pot in his friend’s house. One of the overwhelming sentiments expressed was that the cops just had to have something to do, with their shiny new equipment . . .

This is how Obama operates. Just like Benghazi, the Syrian Rebels etc. He arms those who the American public will support, knowing that those arms will end up in the hands of America’s enemies. All by design to have us pay to arm our foes.
