Paris bomber Ibrahim Abdeslam 'smoked cannabis every day' but 'had no gripe with the West'...

Paris bomber Ibrahim Abdeslam smoked cannabis every day while he stayed at home listening to Arabic hip hop and claiming unemployment benefits, his former wife has said.

Ibrahim, 31, blew himself up outside the Comptoir Voltaire Café on Friday, injuring three people and killing himself.

His former wife, Niama, has revealed that during their two year marriage, from 2006 to 2008, her husband smoked three or four joints a day and stayed at home watching DVDs or listening to music, according to the MailOnline.

She also said he was not interested in current affairs and never watched the news because they did not have a TV, but she claims he “had no gripe with the West”.

It's not so outlandish. I've had people in law enforcement tell me that radical Islam is of secondary interest to a lot of these terrorists ... and that the real motivation for their actions is that are complete losers with a death wish who want to make a name for themselves on their way out.

The pathology, according to the folks I've dealt with, is almost identical to what you find in the Columbine killers or Adam Lanza in Sandy Hook, CT.

“... listening to Arabic hip hop ...”

I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’m pretty sure that it’s cultural enrichment we can do without.

I’d rather chain-smoke a car tailpipe in an enclosed garage than listen to hip-hop in English for more than ten seconds, so I imagine the Arabic sh!t will make you deranged in a hurry.

It appears sometime after they separated he became “radicalized” (new buzz word in the media) and changed his thinking.

Now, this is an interesting point. Obama’s people say the Muslim refugees they’ll bring in will be safe because we will interview them. Obviously, these interviews will reveal more than what a spouse would know. (Of course, how many spouses who thought they knew their partner have been successfully lied to?)

But, ok, let’s say Abdul Xyz is vetted as “ok”. This is sure to hold up in a few years, with people coming from an incredibly violent part of the world, poor skills, and likely to be easily turned? Righto.... (/s)

We should ban these activities.

Anyone know the origins of the word "assassin".

'there is no basis for the belief that Nizari assassins did their business while hopped up on drugs. [...] Legend has it that the Nizaris functioned primarily as assassins. [...] Their leader, known simply as the Old Man of the Mountain, recruited followers by administering an "intoxicating potion" to them and transporting them to a "garden of paradise" to enjoy the forbidden delights of women, drugs and food. The primary ingredient of the potion, according to medieval reports, was hashish. [...] Research by historians such as Bernard Lewis, however, has cast doubt on this lurid picture. [...] The bizarre stories that became so closely connected with the group sprouted from the medieval Muslim majority's attempt to condemn the Nizaris as immoral and heretical'. - http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2023/does-assassin-derive-from-hashish

Nah, we should just ban the taking of mind altering substances, especially those which are known to induce psychotic breaks in some people.
